#2 Fine, but if a country as a whole is not concerned over the sanctity of life, the country has no soul. Pretty easy to witness that in our country right now.

Fact. Why should I pay for something I don't agree with or care about? "It's for the good of the people" eat a dick. I don't want to pay for schools since I have no kids to use the current indoctrination centers. I don't want to subsidize daycare either, can't afford the kids daycare then you shouldn't have had kids.:homer:

On down the line of things can and should be cut out but we know it's all a pipe dream.
 
Just think, the tea tax was equal to less than 1%

We pay what... 30%, maybe even more, between income tax, property tax, sales tax, vehicle registration tax, fuel tax, etc, etc, etc.
 
Being against abortion is pretty simple, even for a libertarian.

First rule of libertarianism: don't infringe on the rights of others. Murder is kinda the ultimate infringement of a person's rights.

Next up: personal responsibility. If one is going to spread her legs for whomever and get possibly get pregnant, man up to your responsibility and take care of the kid.

There are a few things that don't impact me directly that I'm fine with paying for because it helps society as a whole. Kids going through schools today are going to be the doctors and nurses taking care of my ass when I'm 80. I definitely want them to have gotten the best education they can get.

Same with things like after school or sports programs for kids in poor neighborhoods. Get them some positive role models and something to do other than joining a gang and maybe they won't grow up to do a bunch of drugs and try to steal shit from my neighborhood.

Meh, people that want to pay for schools and associated programs are 100% able to do so without the coercion of a gun to the wallet.

Sure, except that everyone else who does not want to pay for schools are 100% reaping the benefits of an educated society.

Lets apply the same logic to other things: I shouldn't haven't to pay to secure the border because I don't live near the border and I don't care if illegals cross. It's a travesty that you're forcing me to pay to secure the border at gun point. Doesn't really work since no matter what, I would benefit from that happening, no?

Subjective. I think we'd be much more retarded if we took public schools away and allowed only those who wanted to pay and send their kids to school to get educated. I'm not talking about homeschoolers and the like- they actually care about educating their kids. There's a whole other subset that wouldn't even be bothered if their kids never learned to read.

So on my mind is this, get rid of the teachers union. The teachers ALWAYS bitch about pay. Why does the union not address that? Why are our schools getting worse and worse with every graduating class? Why are we perpetually paying more and more taxes for bigger school budgets for worse results? The union harbors shitty teachers by protecting their jobs.

my school taxes are 75% of my total and I’m ok with that…. If excellent results are being obtained

Unfortunately I'm voting straight party this year. For the federal elections it makes no difference, this state is going to vote for Harris. But the down ballot votes may make a difference.

Clearly there is a lot that can be improved. Just like there is a lot that can be improved with our border security. Doesn't mean people should get to opt out of paying for it when they're benefiting, whether they like it or not.

This is the first year I've gone full republican all the way down the ballot, including voting against a congressman who I would consider a friendly acquaintance. Problem is he towed the democrat party line a bit too hard these last 4 years, so in my mind he's got to go with the rest of the kooks.

Are we really benefiting though of society is turning out 18 year olds with subpar educations or are we riding on the accomplishments of past generations?
 
We have one Democrat senator left in MT, today'm hopeful he gets fired and makes out State 100% Republican. Straight R ballot for me.

Compared to what would happen if we no longer compelled people to send their kids to school and the government stopped funding schools? Yes.
