Remember. If a public school is failing it gets more money. If a private school is failing they do their best to have it closed. If a charter school is failing the do their best to have it closed.

I’m not saying there aren’t great and good teachers in the public school system. But the pay platforms are not comparable. States with a poor track record on their public schools get more money. The government cant fail in their schools. Their schools are mandatory for most kids as private or charter schools are inaccessible to most. So when a state school system like California or Washington, both have had many years where they ranked near the bottom get “reinforcement” money to pay “better/more” teachers their pay is naturally going to be more than private schools. They simply have more resources and a mandate to be successful.

Again not a shot at you, your wife or any of the great teachers that are out there. Just what I have heard from retired teachers in my town, Bernie & RFK diehard supporters who are against all other schooling options outside of public schools.

I don't think we'll ever get an answer from him. We do know he didn't vote for Trump because TDS. We do know he didn't vote for Kamala.

So that leaves either 3rd party, writing in a name, or not voting. Any one of those three means he did exactly what he has said in the past that is bad about Cali transplants to free states. It's not the end of the world, but it is hypocritical.

I just find it odd that a grown ass man isn't willing to stand behind his own actions.

I'm curious as to how he voted on Idaho's Proposition 1, which was floated by the Dems as open primaries, but in reality was ranked choice voting. It failed, thank God. Like you said, he won't answer, so it's not even worth asking.

Of course, he is well within his rights to tell us all to fuck off. His vote is his business. He didn't do that though. Instead he likes to act like he has already fully explained his position and we are all too stupid to understand it.

Because it is a convoluted, needlessly complicated system. The primary system we have in Idaho now is working just fine, thank you.

Aside from that, when I looked at where the money was coming from in support of the proposition (out of state), it made the choice very easy. YMMV.

Over 70% of Idaho voters agree with me so I guess there is that.

One of the things that swayed many of us was the political advertisements in support of the proposition were intentionally misleading or outright lies. They were trying to hide what the proposition was really going to do if it were approved by the voters. I glossed over that in my original response. Again it makes it a very simple choice for me when I know that the supporters didnt want me to understand what I was really voting for.

Ranked choice voting gets my vote. Pardon the pun.

In CA we have this wild jungle primary system, with 20+ candidates. Ranked choice voting would do wonders to cut down on the chaos.
