Amazon garbage

It’s flooded with Chinese junk at not Chinese junk prices and tons of fake reviews, so much so it pushes real brands and quality out. I’ve also never had to return so much stuff as I have this year. Worst was a pair of ASICS shoes I’m 100% sure were fakes. Went to academy and bought the same model and they were vastly better constructed.

Amazon is basically the Walmart of the internet. Why are you snooty **********ers so surprised that they're not catering to your specific demographic of consumer?

My 4Runner started running like dog **** today. The cap and rotor have seen better days. The parts at Orielys are cheaper than the parts on Amazon. Orielys is your typical parts house brand and Amazon was some never heard of crap. I used my account through work and saved even more. I’ve found that most name brand items don’t really get discounted on Amazon. Could be just the brands I’m looking for I suppose.

Dammit! I just bought some 8A glass bayonette fuses off Amazon. Now I gotta set up a benchtop test rig :mad3:

Like most trips to an actual store, I know what I want when I go look at Amazon. Who the **** just browses dumb **** all day?

With that said, the last few "Cyber Monday", "Prime Day", etc have been nothing but chinese trash sprinkled with a few nice items that sell out in seconds. Half of it seems to be worthless junk that Amazon is pushing like their Fire crap and Ring bull****.

Anything I buy from Amazon I go in with the belief that it’ll be hugely disappointing cheap **** that’s basically disposable but is something I can’t easily find locally. I refuse to use Temu or Ali-whatever.

Yes, it’s the Walmart of the internet. It might even be the dollar tree of the internet by now. I’d almost rather swing by Walmart vs buying off Amazon these days.

I search for the specific name brand things I want, find them shipped/sold by amazon, and buy them. Anything else, especially if I can't pronounce the brand, I know full well going into it that it will be junk, but that's ok in some circumstances...like do I really care if the vacuum bag is a slightly tight fit? or the nitrile gloves are 5 mil instead of 6 mil?

I buy almost everything off Amazon, including sometimes cheap disposable **** that I can't find anywhere else.

Never really had an issue from there. Yesterday was the actal first mistake on their part that I have ever had in more than a decade buying from them. They sent me the wrong front hitch receiver for my van. I got one for a Jeep something. Easy enough to send back but still a hassle.

Sometimes you need some cheap, disposable **** that you can't find anywhere else, and if it exists, there is a good chance it'll be on there.

I don't think so. I bought a dipstick and tube, spark plug heat shields and some of those buss bars from the early 90s chevys. I only got charged for the dipstick and tube.

The guys at my yard will laugh at you if you try to pay for fuses or a relay or random hardware. They never charge me as long as I'm buying other stuff. I figure it that's what the $3 entry fee pays for.

Glad you all can still find parts in junkyards, here Jose and his cousins pick it all clean.

Stopped going a long while ago.
