Airshocks....ORI?

How well does the bypass work with an emulsion shock? I know its been around a while, it just seems kinda goofy with gas oil and foam potentially going through it.

Like many of you guys, I built my buggy in my garage. I so wanted ORI's 4 years ago during the build but between price and the magic sauce they are made of, I chickened out.

Now on the trails, plenty of guys on ORI but still plenty of coilovers, we are all doing the same trails.

No amount of money will fix poor suspension geometry, nor will it fix you as a sucky driver.

From Johnson Valley, to Burris, Clayton, AOP, Rush, SMORE, our usual circle of trails, Hell, we got leaf spring Yota's doing everything and smiling!!

Figure a typical 4400lb LS buggy on 43's, you have 2500lbs in suspension, links, wheels and tires. this leaves appx 2k lbs in chassis, even 2.0 coilovers can handle that if your a trail rider. Go fast is something different.

I called Radflo, spoke to Glen. He sent me a sheet to fill out based on shock angles, corner weights, even gave spring recommendations. They were built for me, took about 30 days to ship. Supper happy and a much better route that a generic part number from the other big guys. I'm sure this same scenario is possible with FOX or whoever. I searched Radflo, his vendor list, and placed order with a small shop and had them drop shipped.

like these for instance

I was just going to recommend Swift springs and then saw your post.

They work well and are much lighter than a standard spring of the same rate. I run their springs on my SxS shocks and have zero complaints and zero rubbing issues. My shocks still look new...

Air shocks are pretty terrible in there own ways. The amount of shaft displacement makes for very little flow through the piston. If they are emulsion it just gets worse as they foam. Resi out the bottom is the only way to fly.

I didn't speak to Radflo but I did order my shocks from them valved the way I wanted from the start.

And?

I've used Profender coilovers on two separate trail rig builds and had no complaints or problems. The quality of those shocks is impressive for the price.

they are overly long because they only make a few length bodies and just add spacers to get the shock travel, poor piston design, parts availability, the oil they use is molasses. better option than an FOA, but thats not saying much.

that would require me to know something about them.....

find a vendor who order you shocks and tell them you want 15s on compression, 10s on rebound, single bleed piston. if they cant supply that, keep calling until you find someone who can. if you cant find someone order the shocks and do it yourself. if you plan on doing it yourself dont buy king, their shims are expensive, 2x compared to fox.

Good info on Fox vs. King....
