85 Bronco

No issues on trying not to come across rude. I work with former military maintenance guys, old school guys who don’t be care about feelings so nothing verbal phases me. Haha

No I haven’t filled it back up. I’ll do it next. I didn’t even think about it honestly. I know the fuel system works after my pre filter because I had it unhooked and turned the engine over real quick and had fuel in the bottle again.

When I use the word “computer” i mean in the most archaic way.

I guess I have California bronco. It’s a computer controlled carb. Also That part I was like wth is it where I circled the carb in my previous post, doing some research It’s a feed back solenoid. It works with the O2 sensor (mine has one just prior to the cat) and it adjusts a/f ratio. Looks like a computer controlled carb just prior to the 86 efi roll out. 😕.

Wonder how tough it would be to rip out all that crap and put a normal distributor in it and get it to pass smog? I live in NV and how many of the inspectors would know what they’re looking at if all of the computer stuff wasn’t there.

I wonder if why it will not start is because the “computer” died. No idea where this computer would be.

Just because I need some humor.

Unsure on smog, but when I first got my 85, it had the same Carter feedback carb bullshit on it, and it didn't have any timing advance, so I got rid of all that crap.

Simple as bolting on a '79 carb I bought on ebay for $100 and adding an MSD 6A box I had laying around with a Duraspark distributor. I see no reason why just those two things would whack your ability to pass emissions, but i'm no expert on that.

If they make a HEI for a 300 I would go that route . About the time I got where I could trouble shoot the brainbox system, my buddy gave me a hei dizzy .
