545RFE are they all the same

How identical are 2007 – 2015 545RFE transmissions from various Mopar vehicle platforms and engine sizes? I have a 2007 5.7L, 4x4, 1500 Dodge Ram which will soon need a transmission. Are 545RFE transmissions, 2007-2015, in Cherokees and Commanders interchangeable with the one in my Ram? No issues with spline counts? Other than, possibly, the valve body are they all the same?

The plan: rebuild a junk yard 545 then swap it into the truck.

I did a little research a couple years ago, it seemed that they were pretty much interchangeable, blew up your 5.7 4wd trans, grab one from a 4.7 2wd, at least that was what the net told me. Not sure on how broad the years swap around

Thanks for the reply and good info. It is very interesting to read that 2wd and 4wd transmissions are interchangeable (per the net).
