Polaris released the new extreme duty Ranger 1500 yesterday. Crew cab in camo with the Ultimate A/C package goes for $50,499.

I thought the sticker on a loaded up Pro R was just north of $50K when they came out.

That's bonkers for that unit though. I get that cowboy cadillacs are now hitting 6 figures, but wow.

With enough accessories you can get to $68K :lmao:

I'm curious to see one in person. Steel belted CVT seems like a step in the wrong direction but I could be wrong.

That is crazy. I haven’t seen a utv yet that has a factory build quality worth anything close to $50k. With shit I’ve added to my commander I’m getting close to $30k and it has so many things that are just poor build quality from the factory I think it’s about a $20k machine at best. I like it, but holy shit are they expensive for what they are.

I can't see the value in a $5000 SxS...

But I bet they have a waiting list for it.

A lot of states seem to allow them to be plated and ran on public roads.

That's gotta help the appeal to the sxs crowd.

I had a hard time spending $5k on the 2013 Ranger Crew diesel I had. It had a full cab, 31" tires, etc.
Was ok, but rode like an old skidder... rough, loud, hot, everything rattled.

For $50k, it better ride like it's on clouds and built like a shitbrick house.

In Iowa they are legal on every road but interstate highways. You can cross the interstates just not ride on them. On state highways you can ride them to the nearest county road. We already had a lot of sxs’s here but after that passed the number of them exploded. I know several people that use them as their daily driver. It made sense when you could get one for under $25k instead of buying a new truck or car. At $50k I don’t get it. I’m sure there will be demand, but I can’t wrap my head around who is buying these. We all know most of them will be fully financed with zero equity. What are those people not spending money on so they can make a $700/month payment on a toy?

The diesel's are hot garbage. The gas ones those years weren't much better. They've come a long ways since then.

Worth it or not is subject to the person paying the cash out.

BUT, when I bought my wife's machine for $10k it really gets hard for me to justify a single 2 seat machine for $20k or even a four seater machine for $50k, that is 5 of what we bought...

When wakeboard boats are $150+ for a 2018 and boat the norms for toys are royally fucked.

Curious if they were financed and if so details?
Pre sold so not sure, I'm not in sales either. But the first guy that called will most likely pay cash for it, he ordered the one that's $50,499. Pretty sure he uses it to show big acreage hunting properties he sells.

Yeah, my buddy had a gas one, no cab. Was faster (lighter and more power) but rode about the same.

Diesel was handy since almost everything I have is diesel so I have a bulk tank.

Got our first one in on Saturday, it left yesterday. Gotta say I'm pretty impressed. They really stepped it up on the interior, the drivetrain components all seem pretty stout. The steeldrive transmission is interesting, if people use it right I think it'll really work well. Tow/Haul acts like low gear and they want you to use it always. If you're in reverse or drive with your seatbelt on in the driver's seat it "creeps" like a vehicle with a torque converter which honestly makes it much easier to move around. Couple of shitty photos.

Is that normal for them to come fully assembled?

Wife's hair lady's husband came home with a new 4 door sxs last month, she was pissed that it had a OVER $10k roof....
I assume some stereo roof deal but damn who that was a good idea?

“Just pay once a month like you do your rent”
I keep thinking "who the hell can justify paying that much for one of these" and then I remember that's how much I have in our two sxs's. :homer: But at least it's two machines instead of one.

when my BIL bought their Defender he spent about $5-6k on his roof. Banging stereo/speaker system with synchronized LED's and light bars on the front/back. That was about 4 years ago, and he had to 100% finance the purchase including the roof. I couldn't wrap my head around that. I'm guessing the same roof would be $10k today.
