33 doesn’t matter:flipoff2:

My dd is a f350 on 37s
LJ Rubicon is on 35s and I plan on getting a set of 37s for it. Isn’t a DD, but wife and I will drive it to work often.
First YJ I bought got a lift and 34” LTBs.
First truck was a 85 Silverado with small lift and 32s, I couldn’t afford decent 33s. Since then I’ve always bought new F350s that lived on at least 35s.

Growing up in the early 00's 33's was like entry level for serious wheeling. The jeep in my avatar pic is sitting on 5.5" of lift and 33's, built it in highschool and I thought I was the big fish in our pond.... My seniour year I put in detroit lockers front and rear and I felt I should be on the cover of petersons 4wd.... lol...

Now 33's aren't even entry level to nothing, they are kind of a nostalgic cute.... Any trails you go on are rutted out by JK/JL's on 37's... so to me 37's are the new entry level to serious wheeling. If your not running 37's you can't even get out of the mall crawlers ruts.

Tire size comparison by year-
Year 200's year 2020's
31" tires = 35" tires
33" tires = 37" tires
35" tires = 40" tires
38" tires = 43" tires
44" tires = stickies (40 +)

I mean, 33s on a Sami is pretty big, but 33s on a bronco is nothing. 35s are the biggest I want to dd anymore, mainly because cost.

I keep this picture around to send to people who ask me on help building stuff. 205s, 31s, 35s, 40s, 44s. Each is the start of a different class of build. Shout out to anyone who drove 44s on the road on stock squarebody stuff.

I bought my highboy in 2000 and ordered 315/75 16 Yokohama MTs for it, the only MTs in that size available, I was working at discount tire, all the guys gathered around when they came in. It was a BIG truck at that time, people commented how tall it was. The super duty had just come out and weren't prevalent yet, and not lifted yet. That changed pretty quick:laughing:

Nice truck, my soft spot is for the 75-77 w/round headlights.

Aren’t factory Raptors on 35s?

My F-350 gets 295/70R18 Cooper ST Maxx in the winter. They are the largest, +34”, studded tire with the best max load (4080) I can find. I also am able to buy them locallly, which is important to me.

Looks like the GY Duratrac 285/75R18 has the same max load, is a 35” and can be pinned. Just haven’t had or seen good results with GY tires on +3/4T trucks. I like the siping on them better than the Coopers, just can’t get them locally.

35's on my 2004 Chevy 2500 look big.

35's on my 2023 Raptor look small.

33's are for SxS and Rangers :flipoff2:

I'll go back awhile, the 2wd 75 Chevy LUV I started in ( Because a Toyota was way out of the budget) best I could do was a set of Toyota take offs, that I think were 30's or 31's and we wheeled the piss out of that poor truck.

33's are the biggest of the smalls, 35's are the smallest of the bigs.

My Crawler is on 35's

I know where that second pic was taken. Been to Holcomb Valley many times. :flipoff2:

factory shit like a sasquatch bronco comes with 35's.
for me 35-down=small tire and 37-up = big tire.

in reality its probably 37 down =small since 40's are super super common

👈🏻 33s on the Rubicon, no problem :grinpimp:

Exactly. It's the Indian not the arrow. Unless you are in the high school or close to that. Then, size matters.

Sadness. All these bad boy toys and bravado and they don't have a single dent or rock rash anywhere. That's a CA thing I guess.

:flipoff2:

Growing up you had to lift or trim the fullsize trucks to get a 33 to fit, so it's the smallest "big tire". :flipoff2:

Back then gmt400s were still new and they came stock with 28s. :homer:

Where are you getting them local. Looking for winter tires currently and that is the size I'd like.

My DD F150 is on the 35s. They just suck in the winter.

Honestly, we're not far from 37s being the new 33s.
This is pretty accurate now. 37s on my Tacoma have the same vibe as when I had 33s on my yj back in the early 2000s:laughing:. It's a weird tire size, makes the easy trails waaaaay to easy, and it's a struggle bus on the hard stuff around here.

I blame jeep fags on 40+ tires aired down to 25psi flooring it on every obstacle and rutting everything out.

The Coopers I get are from either Mr Tire in Plainfield (Bruce) or Davenport’s Mobil (Ben). I try to alternate. Also get tires for the ST from Mr Tire.

The siping on the Goodyears is far superior to the Coopers, they just don’t last for shit from what I’ve seen on 3/4T+ trucks. Bosses Tacoma isn’t as tough on them. Might be fine on a Juan Fiddy?

edit: Also OP is a fag for not including bacon as a poll option.
Hey fuck off, guy! :flipoff2: Lol its not early 2000s pbb, bacon (as a poll option) is played out and can fade away now

When I first got into wheeling 35" tires were huge. Times sure have changed.
I woulda thought those wooden wagon wheels were way bigger than 35s? :flipoff2:

So what most of yall are saying is pretty much since bigger tires are more prevalent these days, 33’s got knocked down to the small tire bracket. Idk if I necessarily agree with that logic but no sweat off my sack either way lol
