That must be an automatic transmission thing because no Jeep I've ever owned was hard to stop with oversize tires. I've also never owned anything but manual transmission Jeeps so maybe that's it.
Toyota on 37's GM rear disc's with an adjustable valve, and a hodge podge of Toyota parts up front, two piston calipers and vented rotors, with an auto trans, but it stops as well as my 2001 2wd 4runner.

But I do a lot of coasting, and looking forward.:homer:

I'm talking stock axles and brakes.

Wifes daily driven jeep is a 16 JKUR 6 speed with built stock 44s with stock rotors and calipers at all 4 corners. It's had/has 37s on it and one set of 40s on it since almost new. That Jeep stops on a dime and will lock up all 4 tires without issue if you want it to.

My old TJ Rubicon 5 speed was on built 44s with 37" PBR radials and that had no problem stopping or locking up the tires either.

I always wondered about the fags on the old Jeep forums who cried about their loss of braking power after going to 35-37" tires and then spent thousands on the big brake kits so they "felt safe"..... Uh dudes, my wife who complains about everything has no issues with hers and she is rolling around with the same size tires and stock brakes. Buncha non driving fags. :lmao:

My TJ doesn't stop for shit on 35s or 33s. Of course I'm not sure if anyone has checked to see if the axle seals are leaking gear oil on the rear drums in 10 years or so.

My Ram 1500 came with 33's and it was in no way shape or form a wheeler. 4x4, but only for snow or rain

Mitsubishi mini truck on 30's did great as did CJ5 on 32's, and Toyota PU on 38s ran with tube cars.

Driver>tire diameter

OP is gay, who GAF?

Mid teens there was an F150 on 33 12.50s that I thought were huge.

My first set of big tires was 35 12.50s.

I’m hoping my next set is 37 to 40 range.

I had one of the bigger trucks in my small town in the early to mid 90s with my square body on 39" boggers. Also, one of the first with bead locks on a 16.5 wheel. It was daily driven and wheeled hard for many years.

Now my daily has 37's and never gets wheeled, cant afford to break it or tear it up.

It's a great ride from Crab flats out to Baldwin lake. We stay at a place in Green Valley Lake.

Thread derail - can a small class C access Crab flats without issue?

Back on track - my little dinghy is only on 30s, but is works ok for what I’ve done so far. I guess that would be considered small

I don’t know anything about the destination you’re asking about. But I had one of those also on 30’s. Still have it sort of.

Cool story bro, nobody said driver isn’t more important than tire diameter. It most certainly is. The thread was more inquiring on where people think small tires become big tires.

We all know stock vehicles these days come with bigger tires than in the past. Maybe I should have put in a stipulation for wheel size, 33x12.5r15 is more likely to be on a wheeler than a 37xwhatever on dubs. Your rams 33s (probably narrow and metric) also probably came on gay ass 18s or 20s too.

God forbid we have wheeling related chat on an offroad forum :lmao: 4 pages says enough people GAF (plus yourself cause you replied) to chat about tires so go fuck bleach or chug a blender or something :flipoff2:

I notice you didn't deny being gay.

Fag.

I actually built an XJ with 33's on (gasp) 15" wheels a few years ago. Yeah my Ram has the same diameter tires, but it just dotes around on the road. All the bro dozers and mall crawlers still don't matter. SxS's with 35's are still as ghey as the ones without them. I wish you all got banned from the street and trails, but you're all going to fuck that up for us anyways.
