I’m wiring in factory power running boards. It needs constant 12v, and from the factory it uses fuse 57 or 59 in the engine junction box which is a 30a. I would really rather not go through all the effort of going through the firewall and getting into the engine junction box - that thing is tight and access looks shitty. I also don’t know how to “connect” to the engine junction box. What are you trying to install and which connector on that BCM are you trying to tap into? "J3" isn't a Ford connector number. I've got pinouts
IMO if you're trying to put that heavy of a load on constant power you're best off going right to the battery.
I thought about using the up fitters but then my steps would be on a switch. I know there’s two up fitters you can make constant power, so it could work. It’s probably last resort type option.Upfitter switches #5 or #6 are both good for 40 amps. Will have to fish in a wire through the firewall as the 4 passthroughs are for the lower amp switches 1-4.
2022 Auxiliary Switch Wiring - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
2017+ Super Duty - 2022 Auxiliary Switch Wiring - Just read section in the 2022 truck manual on the aux switch wiring. Way different than my 17. The wires are under passenger battery and there is also a set of wires to tap that run into the passenger foot well. Looks like a huge improvement...www.ford-trucks.com

Per: Added factory power running boards to my truck - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums there should be a plug in the passenger side kick panel with the wire that you need.I thought about using the up fitters but then my steps would be on a switch. That’s where I’ve got most of my info from, but it seems like the forums kinda dead at least to help me figure out this last piece.Per: Added factory power running boards to my truck - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums there should be a plug in the passenger side kick panel with the wire that you need.

Oh so it's not in the junction box I pulled out, it's behind it?According to my diagrams the PRB power from under the hood runs through C210 which is push pinned to the bottom of the a-pillar behind the BCM.
It's a 34 pin connector with a big locking lever, if the power is already run there it'll be on pin 6, brown w/ red wire.

Maybe I’m dumb but I can’t find what that guys talking about. What plug does he mean
