Hell yea. you need to get Austin to get his shit posted over here so we can motivate him a little. Progress looks great so far.

Thanks man. Progress lately has been mostly at the computer but having everything in CAD, it should fly together once I start building.
Austin moved his crawler over to his new shop recently so I imagine it'll start getting some attention soon.

My new shop at home was finished up August 2020. I was pretty excited to bring the truck home to finish it out!

Nice work on the skins. New shop looks good too, nice and bright in there. Need to spill something on the floor!

Thanks! It's definitely bright. I have the lights on a dimmer and I generally have them turned down some unless I need it.
Hah man, I'm trying to avoid oil stains! I put some concrete sealer down that seems to work well. I didn't realize how expensive concrete coatings are. This one was relatively inexpensive so we'll see how well it holds up.

I wanted to tighten the steering up as much as possible. I got this steering column from Blitzkrieg and am really happy with it. Preload on it is adjustable so you can adjust out all the slop and it spins nice and smooth. Definitely a big upgrade over .750" tube through a heim like I had before. I made a couple brackets to attach it to the dash bar.

Also got a new quick disconnect from Sweet Mfg. It's a much tighter fit than the cheap one I had before.

Old news here....How's about an update!

damn.. it's been three years since I last posted. alright, an update!
so after this is about where things started to snowball. I'll get there in a sec.

I'd wanted a remote fuel filler for a long time. I made this bracket to mount a 2.25" filler cap bung from Spidertrax.

How do those shocks help with the jarring of leaf springs?

good shocks are very important. that said, after a lot of trial and error, I had the leaf packs pretty well dialed. they definitely had their limitations though. I'd usually have to swap them out every year or two.

Looking good! Can't wait to see what you come up with.

you can see in the pics I had tried a few different oil pans. I wanted to solve an oil starvation issue on steep descents. this oil pan from Champ should have much better oil control than what I had before. if not.. at least it looks cool!
with the new oil pan in there, I could start on the skid plate.

new transmission mount as well.

I bolted it to this fixture to weld out.

Love it! That oil skid is cool looking and will only look better after you stack it full of dimes. :smokin::smokin:
