Fucked engine:flipoff2:

Selling for my out of state friend who's kid was going to drive this to Wisconsin, but overheated it in Tucson instead. I verified it got hot, and has minimal compression, they crunched the numbers and are not going to ship it. I'll have a title in a week or so.

Very clean car that a teenager drove for a few months and kind of made a mess of the interior, it'll clean up.

Decent tires

78k on odometer.

Asking 1200obo. Bring reasonable offers

M66 is great if that's what it is.
I don't know dick about s40s. Not interested in small Volvos.
We like big wagons around here
Shame someone neglected it until it died, white blocks are generally reliable.

Hmm, 2.5l turbo 5cyl tag calls it a b5254t, which roughly translated means "super tork":usa:

Yeah, it's the same engine that was in our 04 xc70, and it's derivative is in our new 2016.
Last year I could get a white block. Didn't want turbo\supercharged hybrid 4 banger.

And when I say derivative, it's basically the same motor. They plugged the oil fill in the valve cover and made a new hole for the pcv.
Volvo made that shit for like 20 years. Shouldn't be hard to find another motor to put in it.
Hylton tune will get you 12 lbs of boost and it will scoot. A 19t turbo will get you 20 and it will make 300+ hp with ALL the torques at 2k rpm

And they do make all the torque. Peak torque is like 1800 to 4500. They get winded above 6, cause turbo ain't happy about all the rpms

Damn, I'd pick it up if it was local to me. I have a soft spot for Volvos and I've been wanting another manual AWD car to play with.

1377mi from Vancouver WA to my house, I bet you could find a transport guy for 1k if you were flexible, if that maths out for you, lmk and I'll get better pics, it really is clean

Why you gotta tempt me like this??? :flipoff2:

I had a 2000 S40 and loved it, except for the fwd and 4sp auto. The seats were amazing.

Because the things from my yard would look good in your yard, that's what I'm here for:flipoff2:

It would definitely sit in my shop for a bit and take up space. But swapping an engine in one of these isn't the hardest thing to do, if it came to that.

The biggest unknown would be whether or not the engine is salvageable with a head gasket and maybe head milling/rebuild. Or new head. Or more, depending on how bad it overheated and whatever else got damaged. If not, finding a sub - 100k engine isn't impossible but still $2-2.5k.

My debate would be the total cost and time required. And what I can throw at the car without caring too much. :lmao:
