Update.

The oreilly tps tested bad. I replaced it with the FoMoCo. I also cleaned the TB. The intake was super coked. That got cleaned decently.

The new tps gave it a lot more "pep".

So, back to the vacuum leaks as many suggested. With a stethoscope, there's a massive leak between the valve cover and bottom of the intake. The Ford Pharo (arse ) suspected that.

I think my next step is intake manifold gaskets.

There are some videos on YouTube about how to make a smoke machine for cheap.
The only way to find vacuum leaks is with a smoke machine, I have one and use it all the time, I’ll find a leak in minutes that you could never find any other way.

Is this what you're suggesting, or one of the more primitive ones on Amazon?

I bought this truck back in '19 and never really drove it much. My son drove it until it stopped running.

It's likely these problems were present when I bought it.

Now that I've started fixing things, I've become more critical.

You really don't need a smoke machine for the external vacuum routes... looking at the old brittle nylon lines, any leaks will be self evident. For the intake just a shot of carb cleaner around the seal areas will expose those.

The nylon lines on EVERY obs truck I have had (6 of em') have had this issue.

I have this one, I don't know all the differences, it's a pretty basic function.
I bought this one because it had a pump in it as well to pump the smoke
