Fuck me sideways. Got 17s to clear future BBK, mounted everyhhing up, test fit, no go. Spokes hit the caliper. Fuck, fuck, fuck. Description said they will clear most 17s.

Whats your guys advice?

These ARE new wheels, bought 17s just so i could get bigger breaks. These are Torq 2s, is this specific wheel not good?

I was just going to ask if a thin spacer would work. You might be able the shave a bit off the caliper.

I guess it depends on how hard they're hitting.

Eye balling it, looks like at least a 1/2 spacer will be needed.

The outer edge of the caliper is what the soke is hitting.

I am pretty committed to these brakes

Send it. If it's what it takes

I just say new wheels because it ain't my money

ok, ordered some 1/2"

if it holds me over until I can save up for new wheels, then I guess thats fine

didnt want downtime which is why I got the wheels first, but I guess I fucked that up.

Whatll your studs take? May/may not have space

Well, unless the spacers use an offset pattern.

are they a different design inside the spoke? They look pretty similar

I am on 17x7s all the way around, because the next one up was 17x9.5. If I can do the spacer until I wear the tires out, Id look at a different setup then. Some of the pro touring wheels are sweet, but they are forged 1000 bucks apiece so...

If you must, i may have some bolt on 1.25, 2, and 2 1/2" spacers to try. You will need them until you get into aftermarket BMW and late model GM wheel fitments or styles. They need to clear large brakes, or run willwoods. They do offer a bolt on caliper for that adbundment.

Let me know and i will gladly toss the spacers in a box if you pay the ride.

you seem to know a lot on this - are spacers that big safe to run ? Hard cornering and bumps wont break the studs?

Some nice wheels out there, but jesus this one here is 1500 each

Cheaper wheels are out there. Give the sticker shock some time to wear off.

Bolt Wheel spacers are the go between of old suspension and the wheel offset requirements. I do not think they are safe, But can be if you stay on top of them. Nut and bolt check them often. Make sure they are tight. Then get ready for the jokes because you have to run them.

But with the 4 3/4" bolt pattern the right spacers can open you wheel choices to any 3,5,6,7 series BMW that has a big used aftermarket. And almost any late model GM wheel, aftermarket or stock. So your aftermarket fitmit options open up because the spacer makes up for the offset difference.

For instance,we scored a set of 20x8.5" and 20x10s with decnt tires as bash up wheels for less than 600 bucks. They were from a 330 bmw. They guy wanted to put his stock wheels back on.

1/2" spacers no good, still hit

my dumb ass should have put some tape on the calipers before these test fits, got them a little scratched up

guess i am getting dumber as I age :flipoff2:

Waiting on that weld wheel, but should I stay with 17s, or go 18s?
