i was talking about the JB weld
When I was building my first set of Toyota duals, I tried using too long of a bolt and blew out the inside of the crawl box housing. I JB welded the piece back in there and daily drove and wheeled that truck for another 4yrs with no issues. Would not hesitate to use JB weld in a diff.I used JB weld to fix a hole in the crankcase of an old dual sport bike i had. It held for 5 years, then i sold the bike.
To stay on topic when I helped a friend shave his 14bolt back in the early 2000s, he used the right stuff to the hold the bottom of the diff on, and to this day it seeps a bit and that's it.
