14 JKU M-380 "Kilroy"

Did you simply set the the adapter plate with the new bolt holes on top of the old bracket and weld it on? Or did you splice it into the old bracket?
I've cut out the adapter plate, looks just like yours, and it's all been sitting on my welding table for months now.

Great to hear it's all working as planned.

yah the depth of the CJ motor needed to be a bit more than the JK motor to most closely match the original pivot stud location, so I welded the new plate overtop of the original one, marked the center pivot hole, then cut away the original mounting plate leaving the new plate in its place, and the extra depth placed the pivot stud pretty dern'd close to the JK location, and so far it's working perfectly 👍

Taillights look cool. What's the plan for the tailgate/door thing? Going to smooth out the tire carrier provisions and convert it to a fold down?
...honestly haven't pondered very much on what to 'do' with the tailgate - probably won't smooth anything out, but I will have a swing-away tire carrier for when I'll want the spare tire on the trips without the support truck, so not much if anything will hang off the back...
