Scrap bin buggy

It's not an economy car, it's a race car. :flipoff2:

I'd bet there is someone out there who would gladly pay $3k+ for that car.

This one is slightly nicer, but almost $30k!
Those are the rwd corollas which are way more spendy, this is the gay fwd desk job version :rainbow::lmao:

Got the old tubes cleaned up with my new grinder belt sander attachment man does it work good. Doesn’t seem like much to most but got my new rails cleaned, squared and tacked together. Should be joining the old with the new via fresh boat sides this week and get a bigger better update but progress is progress big or small.

Are you going to weld the A pillar to the cage? That would add a lot of strength to what's left of the sheet metal in the cab. I like this thing.

Yes I’m going to make a dimple die plate like a lot of the drift car guys do. There are several places I’ll tie the cab back in from the inside as well so it’ll be solid. The only reason I’m keeping it is to hold the back window and have it still look like an exo caged Toyota pick up from the front

Not a major update, but still something for you guys. All the heim joints showed up so I made my PVC links for mock up. There is an S&N bravo II sitting in the driveway and these axles have identical mounts, so the plan this week is to try and mimic the chassis side of that car into mine and hopefully it’ll work. I copied the link lengths so I’m cheating compared to most but those cars work so well I’d be stupid not to try and get my setup as close to it as possible. Wb will be 110”

I've never seen the upper link on the diff cover like that. Obviously it works since I'm assuming that's how it was in DSI's car. All progress is good progress! I don't blame you one bit for coping link set up from a proven builder!!

it bolts to the top of the diff center section not just the diff cover.

however currie does offer use just the diff cover for their OE replacement axle setups

Links are made and it rolls now :smokin: I am finding myself trying to put pieces of it together that I don’t even have and I’m losing focus and feeling scattered. I need to prioritize the front of the chassis so I can hard mount the engine and transmission.

I dig the tow bar for moving it around. sure beats a chain

Yes the towbar is the ultimate tool for dead rigs you don’t have to worry about it rolling into you and hills are easy as can be. The front hitch on the Nissan is just cheating lol

Little update for the internet. Started working on making the front clip finally, hood was a major pos to begin with so I’ll do a better job on the real deal but it’s shortened 14”. Just playing with some tube to find something I like. And it’s starting to take a shape again, don’t mind the overhang it’s gonna get cut way down.

looking good!! What's the plan for the open tubes in the front? Stinger of some kind I'm assuming?
