Pics of me towing stuff

I'm researching kits. I got 40k miles of warranty left. Should I wait.

Same. With the price of complete kits it would be a long time before it's cost effective.

I've had emissions fall off my 2014, 2019, and current 2021 personal trucks. All based on principle/longevity.

I'm really getting more and more hesitant to do remove that stuff. I feel like they're getting pretty reliable. Maybe more so than the rest of these newer trucks :homer:

At work we have 12 2018+ diesel pickups, 2 loaders, 2 excavators, and 2 semi's all emissions intact and I haven't heard of any emissions issues for a while.

We also have some ~08-15 stuff that's lighter than factory because of issues.

On the other hand, it's getting pretty hard to pull off tuning wise and expensive. Then you hear about stuff like chp check points on guys heading to glamis? Sounds like a huge pain in the ass.
This i do agree with. My fleet trucks are all 2014+ and have no emissions issues to date. my 4500s are running 200k+. Its also insane for 5k for a tune and delete but the market has become so small for these that you gotta figure the profitability is low for the work it get it done.

My 21 got lightened up at 520 miles. She'll keep up with the best of them grossing 30k+ i have zero regrets.

Had my new work trailer pretty full today. Thank god for 12k dual tandem axles

Doesn’t seem to. I meant everything that goes along with it. The regen really kills the mileage. Seriously thinking about a delete.
This truck is 23 model. The DEF fill is right next to the fuel fill.
Buddy did his ram....did not see a jump in mileage.....maybe 1 mpg ...

Ran cleaner and less soot in oil is a good thing though

Went up to Jackman for 2 days of trail riding with the 1941 MB, 1942 GPW, and a CJ5 that a family friend owns since selling his GPW. Usually the WWII jeeps ride in the enclosed trailer, but wife had to come home early, so the GPW rode on the open trailer home while the others went keeping another day. It was a fun trip with 170 miles in the woods, and hardly anyone out there besides us.

On the emissions thing. Guy at work did it to his wife's ~18 duramax because of Def issues. It's been nothing but problems since. May have something to do with the place that did it, but that goes back to my point that barely anyone does it, so the odds of getting a ****ty shop are probably higher.

Oooo tin top! lol I love those things. Convertibles are fun but I have always had a soft spot for the TT. You don't happen to need an RX-7 do you? :lmao:

No, unless its an FD. I've got enough vehicles. :flipoff2:

If you want this thing, It's rust free in the front and has some rust on the inner rear fenders, but super solid and has a ***le. I'd like to sell it whole since it's nice.

I saw that truck for sale.....guessing you bought it? seemed like a cool deal :smokin:

Yea, gave the kid $2k for it. It's rough and the cab swap was poorly done (literally a single 1" stitch weld on each side of the cab was the only thing holding it together)

Been posting updates in the what did you do to your Ford thread

That trailer rides low, and with a 8" drop ball mount on the truck it was dragging the dovetail everywhere and putting all the weight on the rear trailer axle.

Now with the coupler one hole down from the top, it rides pretty much level. Little uphill toward truck, but its 1000% better than before.

The channel and coupler was $92 shipped from eBay, and is solid. Took some work to get done but way cleaner than a crazy drop hitch on the truck.

This is 2 holes from top, fine with a light load but it likes it up one more when there is 5k on the trailer. Or the load I didnt take pictures of that included 2 6bt engines, a big cast iron bandsaw, 120 gallon air compressor, tool boxes, and a pile of steel plate and tube. That felt way way heavier than the squarebody chevy, so overloaded for sure.

My last tag trailer was a deck over with an adjustable hitch like that. I found it would rattle something fierce if I didn't put shims on the inside of the channel. Meaning thin washers on the inside, between the cast hitch and the outer walls. Without them, no matter the torque I pit on the bolts, it'd shift around and make noise.

Do you have that issue?

It has a little slop, but you only notice it when unloaded.

I may add some washers, but it doesnt bother me that much. It is way better than a pintle trailer.

Little overloaded but not within nun killing territory. Pending your definition.

Sold my vio80 and picked these up, super happy. The 305 with the angle blade is a game changer so far i haven't missed the bigger machine. 289 was the right deal at the right time. with the two attachments plus bucket spread for the mini i figure

When you weld the vertical on those channels the heat cooling off can spread the channel. I put bolts in and close it up a little before I weld it and leave them in until after it’s cooled. I’ve gotten a good fit that way.

I am jealous. My dad just got a brand new 304 and a 289. Guessing thats 22k or so on a 25k gvw trailer, not a problem unless you get chased down after you pass a weigh station. They will do that in Pennsylvania, not sure about other states.

Hopefully in a few years I can get a ragged out 246 and a 305 from Ritchi Bros. Along with a worn out f550 dump with a 6.0 liter.

CA loves to chase down trucks, but they seem to leave pickups alone. Actually the only thing that has kept me away from a flatbed on my personal dually. :shaking:

I tried Richie bros first, but the machines brought 80% of new price with 3000 hours and no history. For an auction machine that was just too much risk for me.
