Got in late and fell asleep so you get them today.

Also, pics of cobbled together reinforcement of rear of body/top so I could shut the damn rear doors properly:

Update: blew up the rear axle. Well, the oldest boy did. Last fall, at an invite only truck and tractor pull a friend and I put on. My son had it on the sled for the umpteenth time and it quit moving in 2wd:homer:
Anyway, finally got around to fixing it. I figured it was blown spider gears.

Oops.

Was there hopping involved?
No, surprisingly.

These are the dents made by the exiting pieces.

Anyhow, didn’t take a ton of pictures to document, but I finally got around to installing the eBay minispool I bought 2 years ago, and the RA axle shaft kits (USA Gear IIRC). Bought a new spider pin, but couldn’t find it. Old one wasn’t that bad.

Homemade slide hammer I beat the axle bearings out with.
IMG_6706.jpeg

HF seal driver I drove the bearing and seal in with.

In the spirit of the project (and due to the fact the shop was full and it was 65 out yesterday) I did this in a gravel driveway on jackstands.

Put a lube locker gaskets on. Bought originally anticipating pulling locker to install open gears. Someone told me I’d never swap in this thread. They win, cuz I destroyed all the parts I was going to swap back to

So, it’s now back on the road, chirping it’s pleasure with these developments at every turn.
