Build “Brophy Jeep” Street Legal Ultra4 4500 class CJ6

While 1Sinner is making mods to his hardtop I’ve been thinking about what I want to do to mine when I finally get there. I have not measured yet but I’d guess I added 10” to the overall length of the tub. I picked up a ratty Meyer CJ5 top and corners. I was thinking of doing a straight section like MAC but I’m thinking I’ll play with both sectioning and adding a semi fast back look. I’ll have to see what angle the cage will allow. I think it will give it a more aggressive look and less mail/icecream truck vibes! lol

Welp! Tomorrow I head south to get the jeep. I locked in a shop today to take it to. The jeep was originally supposed to get to the guy but it did not work out. I’ll let you guys know once I drop it off. But Sunday is gonna be one hell of a long day!!!
I would try to play the guessing gave but it would be too easy for you. He had built ultra4 cars for 3 different shops including one King

Well I dropped the jeep off with David Avila. Those that might not know. Over the years he has worked for Trent Fab, Bomber Fab and most recently Liberty Mountain Fab!
Almost 2 years ago we were talking and I was going to bring the jeep to him but he needed to move and the new house was not suitable for multiple rigs and he was in the middle of another project. Anyways! lol
We are here now and it’s the final push to get this thing done and to wiring and tuning @FTA_inc

Headed to Gardnerville Nevada today.
He worked for Trent Fab, Bomber fab and most recently Liberty Mountain Fab. His name is David Avila. He is full time on his own now.
Great track record. Has stellar recommendations.

My buddy Joe was headed up to Dave’s to drop his buggy off for some tin work this week so I had him order and deliver the aluminum for my jeep as well. Then I thought well hell, might as well have him swing by team tube in sac and grab a few sticks of 4130 I needed to finish out my cage.
Thanks buddy !!!

It looks small to me, what's the capacity?
I’m not sure but it’s just an expansion tank for air and thermal expansion. It doesn’t need to be that big it will have an overflow attached to it too. And if we feel it’s not enough we can cut it in half and extend it however much we need.

Take a look at a factory silverado tank.
Now factor that you will have more coolant into your system.
I think it'll be undersized.

I see your concern. The Silverado don’t have pressure relief caps and coolant catch cans. This is more like a traditional oldschool truck. And that’s how we are building it. But if it truely a self contained system yeah I agree it would need to be larger. The radiator itself doesn’t have a cap just a -12 ORB bung to connect to the surge/expansion tank. It’s not gonna fill fast but it will work.

Yeah they do.

:lmao:
Yes they have a relief but it’s pretty high. But They don’t have a secondary overflow. Either way we will see how it does and make adjustments as we go. At this point I want it done and the items are easy enough to modify and or change to make improvements if needed.
