The Samurai I cut up to build for a customer had that same setup in the rear. He was friends with Eddy from Spidertrax and used to wheel with that crew up in NY until they moved the business out of state. That kit was cool but it was heavy as **** and made it sit up like a monster truck on 35s, so it all had to go.

My own hack job. Ripped the mirror off on a tree. Doors need replaced anyway but it's going to be a while so I didn't want to spend any time on it. I also didn't want to take it to work so I used the $25 HF welder.

Looks like they put flux core wire in a mig welder without swapping the polarity inside. A guy I knew 20yrs ago in a Jeep club ruined a poison spider pre-notched/bent YJ cage kit doing that, and all the welds came out looking very very similar to that mess. He had no clue you had to do that when you swap wire types in a welder. It was a very costly mistake on his part.

Dude, I had that happen to me years ago. Bought a used 110v mig welder that worked like garbage. After getting po'd many times, I went and bought a new 220v welder. While reading the instructions I saw this information, sure as chit, that is why the 110v never worked good....
