But the paints nice!
That blue really glistens in the sunlight on those bird poo weldsBut the paints nice!

It shows...My own hack job. Ripped the mirror off on a tree. Doors need replaced anyway but it's going to be a while so I didn't want to spend any time on it. I also didn't want to take it to work so I used the $25 HF welder.

It takes longer to make those kind of welds than it does just to do the notch right even with just a chop saw and no grinder

The shock mounts are hilarious...
Not as funny as the asking price. Seriously. WTF?The shock mounts are hilarious...
Just think how much that frames worth in scrap...Not as funny as the asking price. Seriously. WTF?
Dude, I had that happen to me years ago. Bought a used 110v mig welder that worked like garbage. After getting po'd many times, I went and bought a new 220v welder. While reading the instructions I saw this information, sure as chit, that is why the 110v never worked good.... But I was still happy I finally bought a 220v welder.Looks like they put flux core wire in a mig welder without swapping the polarity inside. A guy I knew 20yrs ago in a Jeep club ruined a poison spider pre-notched/bent YJ cage kit doing that, and all the welds came out looking very very similar to that mess. He had no clue you had to do that when you swap wire types in a welder. It was a very costly mistake on his part.![]()
Beat to fit, Weld to hold, grind to spec, paint to hide.Paint makes up for the welds.
load bearing paint.Paint makes up for the welds.

the perceived need to double gusset this eyebrow tube is amazing; Out of all the potential load bearing joints to reinforce- that was the one!
Exact same thing for me. I started scrolling through the pictures and figured he was getting his balls busted for doing something Ghettoish. The ***le of this thread threw me off, lol. Thought it was new posts for Ghetto Fab's Hack Job buggy build, lol.
I knew this thread was VERY different from his....I just didn't realize they were named so closely together, so when I clicked on this thread, I was like, "Oops....not the thread I was thinking".Exact same thing for me.
