What did you do to your yota today?

How much of a PITA is this? 1st gen taco

not really. I just rebuilt the ones for a T100, all the same.

Seal is easy. If the wheel bearing is ****ed, then you need a special tool to remove and replace. There's also either one or two spacers that get pressed onto the axle shaft. They must be reinstalled exactly where they were, or it will leak again.

Most difficult part is remembering how the **** the drum brakes go back together.
I need to watch that video.

I suspect the bearing is fine. 225k.

I just changed the diff fluid and will park it with the DS uphill for now :homer:

The T-Case and adapter on my cruiser has been trying to remove itself for a few weeks now. The allen head bolts attaching the adapter were starting to back out. I have been putting it off until I had time to trailer it from my parents house to my apartment in the Bay Area.

Just trying my best to lower property values in my area.

Been working on playing Musical motors between 3 Toyotas lately. My 1971 Hilux is getting the 2RZ swapped into it from my ‘96 Tacoma 2wd I got for free. And the motor from my Hilux is going into this 1965 Toyota Tiara. Just got the 8RC into the Tiara tonight. I was able combine the motor mounts from the hilux and Tiara together to make this motor mount right up. I’m beyond stoked.

+1 on the tiara being sick!

trucks are cool but obscure old cars with mud terrains are better :smokin:

A couple days ago, but when the car sits in the rain water likes to drip right onto a firewall grommet and it makes the driver’s side floorboard soaking wet. So got the idea off T4R to just make a drip shroud. Found some scrap 14g stainless and whipped this up real quick.

No more wet floor!

Also on lunch today, rebolted the exhaust to the bracket on the transmission so it would quit rattling when the clutch starts to grab

Have a mystery clunk I’m still trying to locate, as well as find out why the wiring for the elocker keeps blowing fuses

Tacoma I’m thinking will get put on the back burner awhile. Would love to build a full truggy out of it someday but realistically I might throw some kind of V8 into it and just make it rip again.

Didn’t even mean for the mud terrains to be a thing but turns out Indonesian tires off of Amazon in 13” are dirt cheap. Definitely going for a gambler 500 look on it now.

I do have a YouTube channel I’m showcasing some of the work I’m doing to all of them. My channel is young yet and im just mastering the whole being on camera, filming, and editing thing so bear with me. I’m no cleetus 😅

Wife and I tag teamed plugs on her UZ Runner yesterday. Gnarly misfire was starting to show up under load at 1,500 or so RPM. While changing them, we realized there was around 300k miles on them and #6 wasn't torqued down. Mofo still pulled a 4,750lb camper across a couple states a few weeks ago

Those plugs are roached!
I bet it will feel like you gain some good power with the freshies.

They definitely didn't owe you anything.

Graphics are sweet, my brother had a single cab pickup same color and year. Loved that truck.

Take your time beefing up the front of the frame. And make sure ALL of the bolts are tight before you build out the bumper. Or you are goona be annoyed every time you look at the ****ing thing:homer:
Thanks for the insight. How much beefing are we talking about? 1/4 plate in places, more crossmembers?

When you pull the bumper you will understand. Seems like theres 3 different frame extentions depending on what day they made the truck. So they get cut down, boxed in with angle iron, then the face plated, drilled an tapped. Its all still pretty janky though IMO

I was never happy with how it came out. So I ended up going back and just building new ones.

Gotcha, thanks for the heads up. :homer:

Figured I should wire up the winch before I get stuck in the snow, with a winch that dont have any wires on it:laughing:

And figured to ad a lil brace, coming off the old bumper mounts, just in case I need to punt somebody into the ditch:laughing:.. Naturally I picked some scrap tube that I dont have any more of. And ****ed up the cut for the other side:homer:

I'd like to get that brace on the other side and a lil bash plate in there to try and save my window warsher jug. Its already half blue silicone, but I'd like to try an save it

Hard mounted my Viair 450p compressor for an OBA solution to supply my Zip Locker once I get that setup. Unfortunately I had to mount it behind the passenger seat because it was way too big to fit under the hood.
