80 Proof - TJ Juggy, The Build Continues…

One thing that I have been trying to improve on, is packing up my $hit in a timely manner, and making access to $hit easier and quicker.

Last Dusy trip my tires ripped the ratchet straps off both my 5gal water jug and 5gal gas can. Enough was enough.

I may have gone full Overland Bro, but I think this might be one of my favorite mods. These cans can be taken off in seconds, and they are solid mounted.

I bought a bunch of “Blem” Rotopax stuff. No idea why these are Blems, they look brand new to me

But I picked up 2 3gal cans, and a 2gal (1.75) water jugs along with mounting hardware.

I normally bring a heavy ass 5gal water jug, and noticed even after a 4 day trip, I maybe go though a gallon of water. So 2gal should be plenty. I timed water run time at wide open with the GoWesty spout, and it was exactly 2 minutes 30 seconds. Should be plenty.

These cans are very sturdy, I bet you could drive over them, smash them on tress, and they would be fine.

Also, this set up allows the option to carry up to 12 gallons of fuel with no modifications using 4 3gal cans.

Making some custom mounts that fit the back side of the RotoPax. I used a 4 1/8” Hole Saw and used the cut outs, fit perfect.

Had some 1 3/4” square sitting around and made some mounts. That’s about 8” of weld and the 3gal cans are sitting on the chassis, should be plenty strong.

I’m digging the look :smokin:

Both cans are still inside the overall chassis width.

That is a sweet set up!
Thanks man, the ease of use greatly outweighs the cost.

That being said, I think I saved over $120 by buying Blem Rotopax. After seeing the quality of their “blems” I’ll almost always look for blems first.

It’s like when you realize Blem Interco’s aren’t really blems. :grinpimp:

47s been on there a year so far. how are things holding up?

Well, this weekend will be the second trip on them. Not sure where the time is going. I want to try and get them grooved before this trip, but I’m in Sac for work and won’t be home till Wednesday night.

But I was getting her all ready to go today, and ended up with a dead pretty much brand new, 1 trip Odyssey. It normally never kills battery’s, especially new ones. Luckily I had a new battery sitting in a box. I couldn’t even get it to jump start it was so dead.

Got it running, didn’t want to idle at all, maybe the computer was relearning? Once it warmed up all back to normal. Drove it around, tried to get all the readiness monitors to set. Didn’t quite get all of them, but I had an issue arise multiple times today, that only had happened once or twice in the past. Intermittent “No Bus” displayed in the odometer screen, and no dash function at all. Also the bummer is almost no communication to the OBD II port, which means I won’t be able to smog it. :mad3: I noticed when I slowly turn the key, right before it triggers the starter, I hear a click and if I hold it there it will kinda allow my code reader to read the monitors.

Putting all this together, I’m thinking this lies in the Ignition. I think I broke the Ignition Switch Actuator, and it’s not fully turning on or off the Ignition Switch. Thus causing the Dash Issue, No Bus, and no power to the OBD II port and drained battery.

I ordered all Dorman parts from Amazon, and they should be here Wednesday. Hopefully I will time to get it smogged Thursday, and then head to Georgetown Friday. :smokin:

I’m going to try and clean what I can under the dash, buggy life leaves a lot of this **** completely exposed.

Because a TRUE overland bro would have definitely found some tiny blemish on it before they mounted it permanently on their 4-runner, next to their MaxTrax, and proceeded to get on Yelp and blast Rotopax from the comfort of their neighborhood Starbucks

I replaced the Ignition components. But it didn’t fix my non communication with the OBD 2 port, but it does seem to fix the NO BUS issue with the dash. I’m thinking the pins in the OBD connector are loose and need to be picked a little tighter. So I’ll work on that next.

The Con trip went well, minus the fact we got stuck 200’ onto the trail lol. FordFascist and I didn’t make it to the trail till pretty late in the day, and everything was ice.

Over all fun day, started driving from Georgetown to Uncle Toms, then up Wentworth to Ice House, then to Loon. Wentworth was fun, mostly all snow past Uncle Toms.

FordFascist and my rigs are probably somewhere on OnlyFans. Randomly some Philippine Chica in a bikini was climbing in our rigs taking pictures while we were about 300’ away.

Uncle Tons the night before.

200’ past the bathrooms. I was running 1psi, and fresh tires dug 47” holes quick.

MaxTrax deployed.

After about 15 bouncing off the rev limiter attempts to get out of there and up to the top on the dam, I had to pull the valve cores and air down to -0psi. After that I made it to the top and we got out of there.

We stopped at the start of Wentworth to eat some snacks. While there we waved at a group of 7 rigs heading up Wentworth. I don’t think any of them waved back. Well, quarter mile later 6 of them slid off the side of the road stuck. They were nice and we helped get them all get turned around. We were out of Claws at that point and it would have been nice to be offered a beer or two.

From there we did some night wheeling back to Uncle Toms and then pulled back into Georgetown around 10:30. The girls were shortly behind us with some In N Out from Placerville.

Minus getting stuck at the trail head, that was one of my top Rubicon trips. Maybe in May we’ll get further than 200’.

Yeah, that VooDoo rope took a beating that trip. Might be the best $39 I’ve spent on recovery equipment.

Impressed axle shafts are holding:beer:

Technically I only have the 34 miles of Dusy on the 47’s. I didn’t beat on them too hard this trip.

I’ve have Yukon 4340 shafts front and rear. Front Yukon Hubs and Original Longfield Joints. We’ll see. I have been eyeballing some Rockwells.

I was getting on the front pretty hard when I was sunk. FordFascist was pulling me pretty hard at 90* and I was steering back and forth. To the point I was about to roll, front left was about 4’ off the snow.

Had a great Labor Day Weekend on Fordyce with MtnYota the GF and a friend. 4 days, 3 nights, 3 different camping spots. Ran Eagle Lakes to Meadow and Back. Awesome trip, little dusty, got to explore 2 mines, had to ration beers, then ran out on the 3rd night .

Hit almost all the hard lines, Juggy did awesome, 47’s are starting to break in and did very well!

Can’t beat the views. Well maybe Dusy can lol.

do tell what kind of knife treatment :)

Possibly another back half and turning it into a 5 seat trail limo :smokin: Stretch the rear wheelbase 5” to 123” and stretch the back of the cage about 25”. I should still have almost 80* departure angle with the 47’s.

I would need a new tube bender though, so I’m looking at the Rogue Fab M601.

I also need to get it smogged, but I need to look into why the obd2 port is intermittently communicating with my code reader. I’m hoping it’s just dirty and not a wiring or computer issue.

The M601 should be plenty for my needs.

I have that bender. It's been pretty good to me. Major downfall is length between bends if not inclined with initial bend. But it's reliable as hell otherwise.
