That was the first time in 6.5 years that ****box Honda ever got stuck. I made sure it was ****ing STUCK before I made the call of shame to the wife to bring the CJ7…Your Mustang will make it, just need a bit of a running start.![]()
I am easily influenced…You may have gone in the wrong direction with your build...

so total carb rebuild in the works.Well… finally had a decent stretch of weather where I took the car for an alignment and then took the wife out in it. Owner of our local Ford dealership offered to buy it
We never got that far. He asked if I’d consider selling and I told him not yet. What did he offer?
He’s had some nice stuff over the years sitting in his show room
I just asked them, they said they're the management and you're the peon dispenser of treats.2.5 weeks to get carb parts. Thanks USPS…

No idea. Anyway to check that without pulling the pan? Motor has less than 50 miles on it. I got less than 10 starts out of the first starter. This isnt what you want to think about, but is the crankshaft thrust bearing still good? I've seen a buds toyota that would walk the crankshaft fwd when you stepped on the clutch... If your thrust bearing is wearing away, then you may be forcing the flywheel fwd into the starter gear when you have the clutch depressed to start the car. I really hope this isnt the case, but in my mind I cant think of any other reason those two would make that much contact.![]()
I'd first take a look at the belt alignment to see if its still good... if the crank pulley is farther fwd than the rest the it could be a problem... maybe have somebody cycle the clutch with the engine off to see if there is any movement fore and aft of the crankshaft or flywheel. something soft to lightly pry against the flywheel/balancer/pulley to check for fore and aft movement... mag base and dial indicator could be helpful as well, set it up and zero it then step on clutch to check for thrust play.No idea. I'm embarrassed to admit it has sat in my lift since my last post untouched... Been busy with a bunch of other stuff (garden, built the wife a she shed, and building cabinets in my V-nose). The old man just got back from Florida this week so I finally have someone to help me check for thrust play. We are actually planning on looking at it tomorrow afternoon after work.Curbkrawler any updates to the starter problems?

The wife was extremely patient with me during the build. She never said a word about the amount of time or money we spent. Therefore if momma wants the garden tilled and a she shed that’s what she gets…Right on, its crazy how fast life can get in the way for sure... hope ya find your problem, but at the same time hopefully its not crank walk causing it...
