Hello,

Figured I'd share some of my old trucks and current trucks. I enjoy all the builds and pictures so I may as well contribute.

It all started with a 79 K20- It was a fun first truck but like most it was a massive money pit.
It was pretty nice to start with, but like most MN trucks once you look at them wrong everything rusts out. This one had a lot of bondo hiding all that which looked decent for several years. It had a 3x-rebuild 350, 350, 208, 6inch lift, 36 swampers

Drove it, broke it, fixed it, and I Learned that locking hubs don't always lock and why you should always carry tools. This was before I had a cell phone 2006 ish (If you can imagine that, some of you can) I had to walk home first to then get a tow.

Once i had the 4x4 bug, i set out to build a better wheeler.

I found a 75 K5 blazer that in hindsight looks really nice in some pictures, but the floors were rotted out and the fenders and rockers went soon after. I bolted down any metal sheets i could find to the floor and when about swapping all the parts from the k20 into the blazer.

I purchased a harbor freight kinker and built a roll cage

I narrowed the front end 10 inches or so

The core support is easy to narrow, its the hood that i was never able to get right. I ended up skinning the hood and just pinning it down

I wheeled the blazer for a couple years.

I found a set of the 42'' sx2 on the Interco Blem site and could pass them up. I ran the 42's on the 3/4ton axles for a short while untill I found CUCV axles.

Now for the sad part of the story...

As we grow up the toys often get sold off and after failed attempts at selling whole it was time to part it out and buy a house.

I sold all the parts and some body parts, items so it didn't just go to the scrap yard

Fast forward a few years and I purchased a 77 K30 with utility bed.

I put a 6 inch lift in, 400 small block, 203/205 doubler, and it initially got a set of 42's but later i put on some 40" procomps.

after lift installed

Just recently I found a rotted out 75 K5 blazer once again to rebuild.

Now just working on patching the holes in the floor so its halfway structural again and fitting the doors

Pulled the drive train for a refresh. Im sure the intake was screaming from that carb plate, but it held-eek

Also got some new rockers and floor panels mostly installed. They still need cleanup and a little more work but its a huge improvment from where it was. The driver floor support and cab mount was rotted away so the floor was pretty bowed which made it tough to get back into shape. It'll be good enough for a wheeler.

Rockwell axles rebuild with new seals and wheel bearings, and spools in each axle.

Front Leaf springs are excursion 57" and they will push the front axle forward about 10 inches

Doing 57'' ford excursion rear leaf springs for the front which should give 5-7'' lift, FUSH kit from ORD and 6" shackles.

Rear is 63'' chevy 2500 rear leaf springs, OPRD shackle flip and 6'' HD shackle, and I'm going to keep the front mount in its factory location and move the rear mount which should push the rear axle around 10'' back.

FUSH is beefy

Saw these tires on the INterco Blem site and thought they would be perfect. I was really lusting after 54'' boggers but couldnt pass these up.

Rims are from Boyce equipment- beadlocks are desired but not in the budget at the moment and for what im doing these will probably be just fine

Mounted- just used a large ratchet strap to help seat the bead

Couple trucks for inspiration and ideas I really liked and their pictures and posts on various sites helped my setup

"No lift 48's" is a great build and I had watched that from 15 years ago. I think he may be on this site???

Since I'm trying to keep this "low" I'm thinking the flat rear shackle angle will allow for more droop.

The front i have a 3/8 plate that is going to be the winch mount and spring mount, and then I'm going to extend the frame out to the end of the plate and add some supports from above the spring hanger to the frame for added safety points.

Once the fender/ core support is trimmed it should work- i will either trim the bump stop leaf spring or spin that leaf around so the bump is in the rear??? IDK right now.

I removed the steering since the core support needs to be trimmed, so its pretending to be a pigeon. I can see the front most cross member will need ot be removed and replaced to allow for a little more clearance between the chunk/rotor but clear enough for now.
