So I searched...Woman has a 1989 YJ she loves looking for improvements rides like a Jeep. I've had several CJs and got cured of the disease but I'm looking to making hers better. Rumor has it removing the track bars makes it ride better with no ill handling issues. Please educate me.

Not sure if it makes it ride any better, as the rear one on my YJ was already removed when I got it. But I removed the front one and the front sway bar myself. I did not notice a better ride, but a lot more flex from the front axle while off road. But I definitely do not think it causes any handling issues. Is it on stock springs or aftermarket lift springs?

Removing the track bar improves wheel travel off road and increases vehicle roll on road.

The biggest improvement to the handling would come from high quality leaf springs (Deaver, Alcan, etc.) and high quality (tunable) shock absorbers.

I drove the piss outta mine before I took it out

30 miles a day bumpy windy road.

I like it better with out it.

It's still a bumpy ride but a different kind of bumpy I guess.

Edit
The rear was also gone in mine when I got it.
