Nailed it. Gaming is one thing, fuckin weebs are weird as fuck

The only meaningful difference between Toyota/Kubota/<pick and Japanese brand> fanboys and weebs is that the weebs are fanboying over fictional entertainment type of content and the normal fanboys are fanboying over actual products. They're the exact same types of personalities but being a weeb has a lower bar to entry.

Watching anime is no better or worse than any of the other time warp hobbies. Reading Fiction Novels, scrolling on tiktok, bingeing youtube or netflix or hulu, Gaming, watching sportsball, etc. etc. etc.

All of it is wasting time and human potential rather than being productive in some way. You can make the argument that anime is weird, and fair enough. So are a lot of fiction novels, tiktok is chinese spyware, netflix is trying to make you gay, Gaming rewards you physiologically for meaningless accomplishments, and sportsball is a psyop to keep the male population too focused on trivial bullshit to notice the erosion of western society.

Tying that to Toyota hate is a novel concept though:lmao:

You fail to grasp the big picture.

Being a dumbass fanboy (of anything) is no different than being a rabid fan for a sportsball team. They're just two different ways to scratch what's roughly the same psychological itch for something to be proud of without the hard work of doing anything.

It's little different from being proud of one's race of culture or some other group membership in absence of actually achieving something one's self. Only it's less abstract than those so it seems a little less icky to a lot of people and is less likely to get called out.

I would add people who are rabidly proud of where they live to this, specifically Texans. Usually they have an unforced conversation about it and really no one gives a flaying fuck that the road signs in Texas are x% bigger, or that you have 25 chrome Texas placards all over your f-250 etc....
Way ahead of you. Refresh the page. :flipoff2:

Gaming has been under attack of this shit for a while. The last game awards show I watched seemed to give awards to all sorts of woke developers and I think there were more trannys on the stage than actual women. Oh, and the furry guy pretty much insured I would never watch another game award show.

On the flips side, reading any of the reviews or forums on Steam on these woke leaning games gives me hope as they pull no punches in their disdain for anything remotely woke.

I think I follow, it's still a stretch. :flipoff2:

I think there is a misconception about the word weeb in this thread though. We are jokingly calling each other and ourselves weebs because we consume some anime in rotation with other forms of unproductive entertainment. I dont dress up and go to anime conventions or have a big tiddy anime bitch wrap on my car (I see this fairly regularly:lmao:). I don't try to recommend shows to people who I know would hate them, or have posters of them on my walls or the little figurines.

It's kind of like I wanted a truck and a freind happened to be selling a tundra. If you see me driving around in a tundra and assume I'm a degenerate I guess that's a you problem.:lmao:

Just figured i'd update this for the nerds since it seems to be growing

1) square enix shareholders are questioning the companies involvement with sweet baby inc (their rewrites ruined their last game). Goes to show how far this has gone

Sweet baby ink tried to (allegedly) blackmail an asian (chineese?) gaming company for 7mil to hire their consultants to "fix" their new game "or else". They told them to pound sand and then the articles (on IGN) starting showing up on their misogynistic problems and toxic office culture. Hmmmm wonder why they just started having these issues.
