ugh, that guy again?
noticed that too lolLooks like it had a semi floating 14 bolt in beginning of the video, broke the ring and pinion then later it had a full float 14 bolt rear.

Because the front tires lost traction before it could. Path of least resistance and shit.Looks like it had a semi floating 14 bolt in beginning of the video, broke the ring and pinion then later it had a full float 14 bolt rear. Pretty impressive that the SM465-NP205 adapter or coupler sleeve didn't break. I had a pile of broken ones. Same with the 10 bolt front, how did it not break?
my dad sure as shit couldn't, said a k5 was nearly twice the price of the ramcharger he boughtAnd it was cheap enough people like my uncle could afford one new.
Makes me think I'm probably good to move an empty dry van on a converter dolly.I'm impressed it got that 4 trail load moving
Yeah, it's amazing how well stock shit that people here turn up their nose at works when you aren't trying to make it turn a tire that has 30% more diameter.Because the front tires lost traction before it could. Path of least resistance and shit.
That drivetrain is nothing special other than the 14B being marginally better than the D70 Ford and Dodge were using. That drivetrain created the best overall truck ever built for it's time.
Did you not have the frame mount that bolts the transfer case side to the frame? I've abused the hell out of 465/205 setups and never broken adapters or sleeves. Broken a shit ton of D44 axle ujoints though.Looks like it had a semi floating 14 bolt in beginning of the video, broke the ring and pinion then later it had a full float 14 bolt rear. I think the truck pullers break the input shaft. Tell that to the 60 rear I've broke twice behind a 435-205. I ain't even THAT hard on it either.I think the truck pullers break the input shaft. The ford np435 -205-60 was a strong set-up
Uhhh you do realize my truck has like 8 options on it that includes the 4 speed, 350 engine, AM radio, power steering, gauges, and spare tire, right?my dad sure as shit couldn't, said a k5 was nearly twice the price of the ramcharger he bought

Yabut...do you still have the original rear in your truck? If so, that 30spl Dana 60 is a weak hearted SOB. I've broken several of them as well.Tell that to the 60 rear I've broke twice behind a 435-205. I ain't even THAT hard on it either.
To be fair, just the one time was the shaft. The other time was the ring.Yabut...do you still have the original rear in your truck? If so, that 30spl Dana 60 is a weak hearted SOB. I've broken several of them as well.

He really needs to just scrap the monster max project. That thing is a useless money pit that breaks every time he tries to drive it. Cool concept but it generates basically zero content because it falls apart every time he starts it.
Compare it to the hilux or G wagon. They provided a lot of good footage.
I've got one with a school bus 465 big input shaft and 13 inch clutch and flywheel so big it has a steel adapter plate from the block to the humongous bell housing and still haven't broken the couplers. Good for me I guess.I have had about 30 figure 8 465-205 Adapters and probably 25 were cracked. Most people can't even see the cracks unless they are cleaned and heated with a torch to melt the oil out. The factory braces that came in some of the early trucks don't help in my opinion. Probably why GM switched to a diffetent style in the newer trucks and eventually got rid of the sleeves and went to a different adapter.
Abuse? Nah, both times was pulling my gooseneck flatbed. Not abuse in my book. Wasn't even that heavy. 10k maybe. Guess the 460 just likes 60's for lunch.BTDT
A 10.25 is a big upgrade.
Or just sell the truck to me and I will not abuse it like you do.
I know I posted the original price sheet from my 94 F250 here before. I need to dig out the financing paperwork from grampa's 74 Chevy 1 ton, from 74Uhhh you do realize my truck has like 8 options on it that includes the 4 speed, 350 engine, AM radio, power steering, gauges, and spare tire, right?
This is a straight bare bones farm truck. This thing didn't even ever have any hubcaps! 3/4 ton, 8 foot bed. This was from when it was new:
Little different than pricing out a k5 toy.
