Honestly both are screwed . Who the hell points the vice jaws that way ?! The handle should be pointing at you so that your work can be laid on the “workbench” easily while working on it .

No that guy builds driveshafts or something.
(Actually he has a popular YouTube channel and is high up with a large equipment company)The dude leaning into the cab owns that truck. Probably the best truck I've worked around. He has it dialed in.

Mines on the right, my crane is on the right, I didn't put it there, but have no need to change it. I also feel I'd run into more if it was on the drivers side
My vise is on the right and so is the crane. There is a slot on the left to drop the mounting plate into but it's never been on that side and I have no need to change it.

We have one of each, on purpose. Propane crane truck for setting tanks. Easier for long reaches and going over fences. One on the L, one on the R.

You know they rotate right?
On our service truck left side of the bumper opposite the mule crane same side as the tools.
On our pump hoist the chain vise is on the left side same side as the tools and the normal vise is on the right.
On our flatbed the vise and pipe vise is on the left side near the tool box.

I've got a mount on each corner of the deck for my crane.
When you are working in the field there isn't one position that is the "right way" so they all swivel.

I put the small HF manual one I got on the right side of my Ranger.
(didn't think having it on the same side as my fat ass would be a great plan. An engine hanging off it leans it pretty good as it is)

My crane is on the right as is the vise right now. But I got holes for my vise to go both ways, left or right.
As far as putting the vise on the right if you ever do any road calls to a broken truck on the side of I90 and need to use your vise there's a reason you don't have it on the left side.
