Honestly both are screwed . Who the hell points the vice jaws that way ?! The handle should be pointing at you so that your work can be laid on the “workbench” easily while working on it .

On our service truck left side of the bumper opposite the mule crane same side as the tools.

On our pump hoist the chain vise is on the left side same side as the tools and the normal vise is on the right.

On our flatbed the vise and pipe vise is on the left side near the tool box.

Anybody remember the greeting "How they hanging" was acceptable among friends?

Nowadays it's considered a wrong impression-

I put the small HF manual one I got on the right side of my Ranger.:homer:

(didn't think having it on the same side as my fat ass would be a great plan. An engine hanging off it leans it pretty good as it is):flipoff2:

My crane is on the right as is the vise right now. But I got holes for my vise to go both ways, left or right.:flipoff2:

As far as putting the vise on the right if you ever do any road calls to a broken truck on the side of I90 and need to use your vise there's a reason you don't have it on the left side.
