What's new

What's New?

Marlin 94’s have gone up since the last time I bought one. I was thinking 2k for the Taylor 9mm or 2k+450 for the 10mm. I dunno. They’re both out of my league. Once you hit 2k for a pistol caliber lever gun what’s another grand for an extra millimeter?
I bought the "best" .357 1894 (cross bolt safety) under $1K I found at Wanenmacher's in spring of '18, I think I looked at just about every one of them. I talked them down from $800 to $750 and felt like I got a good deal.

I bought my mom a new .357 94 sometime around 2006 or 2007 for Mother’s Day. I think I paid $450 but I could be misremembering that. It really didn’t seem like that long ago.

06-07 was ages and ages ago in marlin, remlin, freedom group now ruger terms.
Love my marlin in 44mag.
Picked it up before everything went nuts on them.
I could pick up a whole hell of a lot of 357 for the price to convert a gun to 9mm. You could always load 357 to 9mm specs.

those guys case length sensitive like some lever guns are?
use your brass that's been cracked
trim it to halfway between 9mm and 38spl (38s&w long?)
then when it cracks again trim it to 9mm or 380 length haha

I bought dad a 96/17 about that time frame. I've got a glut of .17 HMR, so I thought I'd like to get one for myself. I remember new I got Sportsman's Warehouse to match Walmart's advertised price for like $250-ish, Sportsman's had one in stock and Walmart didn't. I got on Gunbroker a couple years ago, and decided I didn't want one that bad anymore, they're $1K+ now. I've told dad not to sell his.

Use AK mags in your 7.62x39 Ruger Ranch.

A little pricey for a mag well, I know you can swap the AR magwell from a .223 Ranch and use 7.62x39 AR mags, but chances are more folks already have an AK and a glut of mags for it than an AR chambered in 7.62x39.

Are they worth something now? I've sold a few, never got more than $400 for one.

They went up just like everything. Pre safety even more so.

Id love a 44mag but they are all in the $750-$1k range. Dont need one that bad:laughing:

Beretta did a refresh of the .32 acp tomcat this year and I think I’m going to pick one up.

How hard are the slides on these to pull back? My mom is coming around to the idea of keeping a gun for protection, but has arthritis in her hands pretty bad. I was thinking one of these tip-up barrel deals might be the ticket.

It’s double/single action. You don’t need to pull back the slide. Pop the barrel, insert a round, and you’re ready to go.

Info on M855A1 ammo. Impressive performance on gel, but a confusing MV with all that extra pressure.

S&W recently released their new micro 380, Bodyguard 2.0. I think I'll pick one up when the new gun prices drop. 10 oz empty, 10+1 double stack with barely almost a full grip.

This is kinda cool even though it’s based on a Keltec 22lr. That Ruger 5.7 pistol would be a much better option. His is already falling apart in the video. It’s printed plastic. An injection molded chassis (Magpul) would be tits.

whats the plus over a 9mm?

Less recoil than a 9mm in a teeny tiny gun. I think the time of the micro 380s has come and gone personally since there are so many good almost as small 9mm pistols now.

Ports on a small gun are badass. The difference between my ported shield and a normal 365 is very obvious:smokin: I'll pick up a ported shield plus one of these days.

What surprised me. Was I bought a ported 5" M&P based off what I thought of that shield. And honestly there isnt a lot of difference between a standard 4" gun and that 5" ported gun. I did not expect that

I dont even know anybody that even owns a 380:laughing:

I've got an original bodyguard that I inherited, my mom uses it for shooting at raccoons on her porch. I got an LCP parts kit laying around here that I intend to make an FCG housing for at some point because it looks like an easy-ish project. Parts kit was like 10 bucks.

Size, he holds it next to a 9mm Shield (subcompact 9) @ 4:30 in that video, considerably smaller.

Hydrashok Deep sounds like a pretty impressive 380 round (for a 380). It expands but has a penetrator post.

I didnt see the size comparison but I wonder what a springfield has to do with a S&W?
