I had a dog that would do that, we would toss rocks into the river and he’d go down and get them. Never had another dog that would fully submerge their head like him.

He also was in about 3ft of water one day and took a 💩 underwater.

A Bassett hound named Marmaduke. He lived to be 16. His entire head and neck was white back to his shoulders he was so old. One of the most happy go lucky animals I've ever been around. He was a gift from my grandfather for my 2nd birthday and he died right before I graduated HS.

Had a golden retriever like that when I was a kid. Throw a rock in a pond and he would find that exact rock and bring it back. Provided kid me with hours upon hours of entertainment. Poor guy had no teeth by the time he reached old age.
