What's new

What sucks the best?

Rigid. I have several. They work, and are cheap enough that when they don't, I can throw it on the burn pile and grab a new one.

Shop vac I hear has gone belly up and the bits n pieces are currently unavailable.

Get the Harbor freight dust collector and mount it to the lid of a plastic 55gal barrel so that it draws through the barrel. That thing (when it's not clogged with shop rags) will pick up nuts and bolts off the table through a 4" hose. With a vacuum sized hose and tips it should have no problem sucking up anything short of lead weights.

I like ridgid vacs because they have a real switch. Every "shop vac" I have used had some stupid push button POS switch that doesn't work right. And ridgids have a better filter system.

Ridged has been the best I've owned. Use one at work as well. Has a handle and 2 big wheels like a dolly. The storage bag keeps all the parts together.

When you drop your dick on the table it's a courtesy to pass along some info like model number and such. :flipoff2:

I don't know if the model number is still on it somewhere. As far as I know, they haven't been available for years. That's a random pic off the Interwebs, but mine looks just like it. The old style Crapsman logo probably dates it to the '60s or '70s. I know the cord has been replaced and the hose on it was ripped off a car wash vacuum and even with that big hose I have never really needed to use the second motor. They have separate switches so you can run either or both.

Couple of different Feins here.

They're quiet. They're great at filtering dust, rather than throwing it back into the very environment you're vacuuming. Nice long hose and cord.

The hose is smaller diameter than most big box brands, so if you're picking up huge chunks as opposed to small dust, you may not like that.

I have the 6.5peak, 16 gallon from Ridgid. It's by far the best shop vac I've ever used.

I have the same unit. I use it for everything, from sucking gear oil out of a NV4500, draw brake fluid through a bone dry brake system at calipers, all way down to my go-to house cleaning needs. I even used it to suck up chicken brooder beddings and to clean ash out of fireplace (suck it all up, because I am lazy).

Pro-tip - buy extra filter so you can have it on a rotation as it take a while to dry after cleaning.

Late to the party. Only read the title.

I have an ex that took the whole thing right down to my dick root. Full on Heather Whatsherface. Totally gone. Could hold it there for 5m flat. It was nothing short of amazing.

If we're talking vacuum cleaners, then I've got nothing. :flipoff2:

We use a 6.5 rigid to suck existing sprinkler systems dry when pulling apart. Keeps them from dripping water all over carpets or floors and other shit. The rigid can usually suck out about 3' of head without losing a drop. It can control the flow pretty well on about 6' of head. They're plenty sucky, and last quite a while for the hell we put them through.
