What's new

went outside to play but it was freezing ballz out

Years ago when I was sharing a condo in San Diego with my brother we had a friend fly out over the Christmas holidays from Wisconsin. This was when they still had the stairs they rolled up to the jet outside. He came out of the door with his huge parka on into 75* sunny weather. He just stopped and blocked the plane's door until the stewardess got him to move.
A buddy went to Cali one winter, his daughter had some basketball team camp thing.

They ended up at Disney and the beach nearby (no idea where exactly).
Said the beach was almost empty so they had a blast, was maybe 60*, so perfect T shirt and shorts weather... compared to the -20* at home it was darn HOT!

They had someone call the cops (or maybe was some sort of beach patrol? It's been like 5+ years so can't remember exactly) claiming they were concerned about the kid's welfare, being out in the "cold":laughing: Cops were at least decent and just laughed it off once they found out about being from Alaska.

I got transferred from Chanute AFB in Illinois to Vandenberg AFB in Cali in January. I was used to cold, wet bullshit marching in formation and it was freaking awesome in V. I’m out jogging my first morning there and it’s like 45. Everyone else is in sweats and hoodies and I’m running in just shorts. Got some looks:laughing:

Pretty normal here.

Damn. Did they still yell "contact" before someone spun the prop? :flipoff2:

Our 4 month old Golden Retriever experienced his first snow this morning. I let him out the door, he got about 5 ft and stopped dead in his tracks.
About 10 seconds later he was romping around the yard.
New kitten Pinochet ran out on me at 6am. The porch concrete was wet and slushy then he got to the snow. I was in socks. good thing he has a long tail, so I didn't have to run in the snow.

I'm guessing he will love the snow and be harder to keep inside until he is bigger.
