What’s the norm cash gift these days? Pay for the plate plus ? $200 is and isn’t much depending. $3.50?

I'd say it depends on how close you are...$200 for two is/was the going rate for just some random friend. I'd usually do closer to $500 for best friends (though I'd be in the wedding party in those cases) or family.

Never heard of wedding cash... maybe my lack of giving any is why I didnt get any at my wedding. Is it seperate from a present? Does it go in a card?

Just wedding gift....a lot of lazy ****s do cash these days, but gift of same $ amount is appropriate.

We prefer to opt for a gift rather than money, I think any monetary gifts are just tacky AF.

None, **** off with your donation jar. :flipoff2:
exactly, if you cant afford to get married, probably shouldn't be doing it

and my opinion changes for the worse if you can afford it and you are still a beggar

So I only go to close friends weddings. Will spend somewhere between $100-1000 depending.

Going to my little sisters wedding I found her broke down on the side of the road in her wedding dress with her jeep overheating. I handnt gotten her a present yet so between the wedding and reception/dinner I stopped and got her and her husband a water pump.

Are you getting them a gift, or is the money the gift?

$200 total for gift + cash for close friends or family sounds good if you can afford it.

Who wears the dress while driving to the wedding ?

That's the most hillbilly/redneck wedding present I have ever heard of.
Tell you future nieces and nephews that story...

Classy :flipoff2:

I usually cruise the registry and find the couple things the groom snuck on there or fought for.

If not I'll get them something not on the list but people starting out need - homeowner tools, etc. Go with the only AVE thing - worm drive saw, everyone with a house needs one and it will probably outlast the marriage. Don't subscribe to the cash thing unless they state it's for a specific purpose like down payment on a house, honeymoon fund or the like

But ****, I must be getting old it's been so long since a friend had a wedding.

Most friends get a handmade knife for the wedding, unless I don't have time to finish or make one.
If not my friend , but the wife's they get 50 to 150 in wither a card or a gift off the registry.

Hand made gift if close friend. Tools/bang stuff or cash. 100 a plate is what I go by.

Talk about timely; went to my mom's first cousin's Daughter's daughter's prewedding shindig tonight. Mom gave them $500 I just went for the food. Kind of disapointed instead of the usual good homemade stuff it was all store bought! :flipoff2:

That sounds like the start of a bad pron.

"Oh 2big stepbrother, I'm so glad you're here, my waterpump is leaking and I need you to plug it with your shaft."

Did you at least install the ****ing water pump for them?
