Gonna be in Vegas end of February for a weekend with the family. Is there anything that would be worth taking an extra day or two off of school for my boys to take them to see in the area. I was thinking maybe see the Hoover dam, maybe see the Grand Canyon if it’s not too far away. Boys are 11 and 14.

The Spere looks really really cool.

I wish the program you could watch was less "humans are bad" but I still think it is worth it to go.

I was in Vegas last year and it was the one thing I regret I did not do.

Besides that I have nothing

CONEXPO is the 1st week of March. Its pretty cool to see all the equipment

They redid wizard of Oz and are playing it now. My coworker took his wife to see Backstreet Boys and said it was one of the coolest things he’s ever seen.

Any cirque show is worth it. We saw O and it was amazing.

We went to the horseshoe bridge over the canyon and that was pretty cool, it’s a long bus ride though. You get to see the dam also so it may be worth hitting both at once.

lol I’m not excited to go to Vegas but that’s where the tournament is :homer:. If I stay a few days longer to go to the con expo it can be a legit business expense :flipoff2:

I ****ed up and got stuck building buckets. Boss come through and asked if I could flag for him. "**** yea, get me outta here!!!!!" "Go pack a bag we leave in an hour"

****ers bought an 8. So I follow that damn lowboy all the way there. Goona get my all expense paid trip to vegas.

Yea the liquor store and carls jr was all that we found that was still open :flipoff: Running through there with an 8 on at noon, doin 60+ with our choice of lanes was kinda weird.

Took my boy to the battlebots deal, its definitely a "staged" attraction but was still cool, he loved it he was 11 at time. The behind scenes deal was pretty cool to check out

That would have been cool and I would love to see it there.

I spent some time reading and watching videos about the Sphere, it is pretty technology advanced.

The only thing playing during the day was 'Earth' and while super cool production value on it, it seemed to be a Global Warming / Humans Bad and I did not want to see it

When we visited Vegas a few years ago I went to Area 15/Omega mart with the oldest kid (youngest was being female, Mrs was tired). It was interesting, we had fun.

The sphere wasn't quite completed, but we heard it would be amazing.

Agree. Saw The Beatles on and it was awesome.

Go to the Michael Jackson one at Mandalay. I'm a fan of his so there's that but a cool show.

Dayum, two seconds too late. I was gonna suggest pyleit . He keeps going there several times a month. He must like it, he just keeps going back! :lmao:

We hit Vegas every other year. Done most of the touristy stuff.

Cirque shows are good, KA is a little out there/hard to follow as far as story goes but it's not bad. If it's you're first one, Mystere would be my choice followed by O.

Shelby museum is free. Mob museum is down by Freemont St, not free but it's interesting. Neon museum is also down that way.

Pinball hall of fame is a good way to kill some time.

Probably a little expensive, but we've done the Grand Canyon helicopter tours a few times. The one where they fly you below the rim of the canyon was the best (have also done the one that lands on the edge and the normal flyover one). Totally different perspective vs seeing it from the ground. We've been lucky and gotten the front seats every time so have had unobstructed views.

Aquarium at Mandalay Bay is alright.

There is an arcade at Excalibur that's decent.

We always pack light with just our carry on bags and hit up Walgreens or CVS for toiletries. Buy a case of water and keep that in our room. Be prepared to walk alot. Usually there is no direct path anywhere...have to walk through casino/hotel, use bridge to cross street, use crosswalk to cross another. Last time we were there they were putting trees back in after F1 was in town so they had good portion on the sidewalk closed in some spots. If you keep your same sleep schedule, get out and walk around early in the morning (assuming you're staying on the strip). It's oddly quiet/peaceful at 5am there.

Didn't get to much in Vegas when we were there a year ago, too damn hot out in July. Seeing the sights on the strip was fun, kids had fun for an hour or so in the arcade at Excalibur. I did not go to the Sphere for a show, but my kid said it was a cool experience.

Hoover dam was fun to see for me, I wish I had time to do a tour. We did the west rim of the Grand Canyon and the sky walk, neat to see but again, HOT outside when we were there so it was a bit miserable for the kids.
