Upgrades to AS68RC trans

AS68RC in 2008 Derdge 5500.

Has never shifted great, often a bad 2-3 flare, especially with loaded. 7-8mpg too which is stupid.

Aside from dropping ~$12k+ on a "built" trans, are the bolt on updates, like a valve body kit worth it?

The main one I'm finding it around $850, which seems crazy, but parts and support seems to be jack shit for this thing

I do not think that Trans has a lot of aftermarket support, thats why the Brodozer guys like 68RFE.

Lot of fks have said same about the 68RC. I know a stock rebuild is in the 10k area.

I have had valve bodies fix shift flares in aisin transmissions, though not that one in particular.
two FWD transmissions in the family got revmax valve bodies and that fixed the shifting issues.
