Anyone have info on doing a ~2" lift on a Unimog 406 cab?

To fit a 44" tire, I'm being told the cab needs a bit of lift to clear, otherwise the tire will hit in the wheel well, which is pretty much the footwell, so not easily trimmed. I guess the steering, brake lines, etc have enough movenent.

Can't find any info on how though. The front mount is simple, the rears, bit more complicated.

Seems like most of the Unimog owners that are online aren't ones that work on stuff and just have shops do things.

True story.

I honestly haven’t seen one up close. Post up some pics, this is the right group to come up with those fab ideas

This is what the rear mount looks like. There's 2.

I'll get pics of underneath in a bit.

Photos of the mounts. 3 total.

I'm thinking perhaps a section of tube 2" long with flanges on both ends, but maybe I'm way off.

I know it's been done, but I can't find any info online for ideas.

Looks like you should be able to weld on some stock to lift that a few inches. Do you know that 2" would cover it?

For the rears I bet you could call Scott at EI and he could help you find a diffrent type of mount, that could be positioned higher above the frame, that could be welded to the frame as well

No, just what several folks said was needed to fit a 14.00x20 tire and have full flex.

Didn't think to ask him. The new mounts came from there.

Apparently they are just using spacers on the body mounts and long bolts.
