That left hook just hits different. Some dudes have that kill switch power and he's got it. I'll be shocked if Jan doesn't bring his wrestling shoes and singlet to this one.
 
I wanna see Jan knock him out, but I bet Alex makes it go 3 rounds.

Smart approach by Jan. Now I hope Pereira smokes his ass in the 2nd. :laughing:
 
Jan looks SPENT. If he can't get an immediate takedown in the 3rd he's cooked.
 
29-28 Pereira but it won't shock me if the judges give it to Jan based on 40 seconds of top control to end the fight.

Glad the judges didn't take that bait. They're starting to get better at not giving too much weight to takedowns that amount to nothing. 40 seconds of weak top control after a takedown with no damage inflicted, no position advancing, no sub attempts shouldn't negate 4:20 of winning the standup.

With that said, Alex should've gotten on the gas in the 3rd and just gotten him out of there. Jan was GASSED. Seems like Alex was waiting on the perfect sniper shot instead of just listening to his corner and unleashing combos and letting the shot find itself.
 
Hoping for a great fight here. Gaethje is a more measured, controlled fighter since their first encounter but I think his chin is fading. He replied so heavily for so long on that chin that it's taken a lot of wear and tear.
 
Poirier has a classic walkout song too. I can't hear this song without immediately thinking Dustin Poirier.
 
I think porier is just starting on the downward side, and gaethje is still going up. They are both going to the hospital I’m sure.
 
Man, I'm glad I'm not scoring that. I'm going 10-9 Gaethje but I'd waste zero oxygen arguing against 10-9 Poirier or hell, 10-10 for that matter.

Dustin is just quicker. Justin gonna duck into one pretty soon.
