Trump’s new Border Csar: Tom Homan

He’s gonna upset the leftist for sure. They’ll spew out their usual long list of label name calling and react overly dramatically making crybaby scenes. Yaknow like going to the border and twisting things like babies in cages and shit. Fuck em, let’s go “who let the dogs out?” Style and round them up and kick em out. Wanna be here? Do it legally.

Where is the outrage over the whole "czar" system???

It's a system brought about to keep from having an official cabinet member approved. It's a more organized "Kitchen cabinet" in my mind.
The whole point of a kitchen cabinet is it was informal... when you take your kitchen cabinet and give them a title of "czar"... it's too formal and moves into a system that is not in keeping with the way the founders designed it.

:stirthepot:

Obama really opened the box on the Czar’s.

At this point there isn’t really any way to undo all this mess without them. Congress and senators cannot be trusted.
But consolidating all power and control in the executive branch can be trusted? What happens in 4 years?

Some of y'all are just begging for tyrannical authoritarianism.

My whole problem with executive orders. All they do in the end is make the pendulum swing wildly. Their guy writes something stupid, next up your guy erases it and writes something good, 4 years later their guy wipes it clean and goes full retard, etc etc etc

the bad part about his response is that its probably against the law to deport an anchor baby with the illegal parents, kid born with birthright citizenship. there will need to be a lot of manipulating to get it done and i dont think the courts will support it. Now.... i think we can threaten to deport the parents, give them the option to leave the "citizen" kids with someone here or have them VOLUNTARILY leave and take the kids with them.

They need to fix birthright citizenship also. Thats not something many are talking about but its a HUGE key to fixing immigration.

Don't know enough about the guy to have an opinion on him. While I want the border shut down and as many of these illegals as possible kicked out of the country, I don't want it rushed or gone about in a way that disregards civil liberties. Especially after the Hispanic demographic has shifted in favor of the GOP to the degree that it has. The civil liberties aspect speaks for itself, but from a political standpoint too you don't want to create a situation where Hispanics are suddenly heavily discriminated against because they look the same as a huge chunk of the people being deported.

They need to fix birthright citizenship also. Thats not something many are talking about but its a HUGE key to fixing immigration.
That's just a symptom of a problem. Anchor babies wouldn't be a problem if you get rid of all the entitlements that come with it and that's really the larger issue. If we can fix the border, overhaul immigration and downsize the size of the Federal government to extent Trump and his supporters have been pitching then the entitlements that come with citizenship largely disappear. At that point you've removed all the reasons people have anchor babies.

i disagree, its been a root cause for a long time. the base entitlement that comes with birthright citizenship, that you cant get rid of is you can never get deported.

its not just illegals that play this game. the chinese and asians here legally on student visas also play this game. but for different reasons than southern border crosser illegals do. there is birth toursim that happens too. Its still a problem and one that needs to be fixed.

Absolutely exactly.

If someone is born on US soil they're an American. There's no reason for them not to be. You can't leave the back door open and a trail of chicken nuggets up the steps then complain about all the stray dogs getting in your house.

It isnt like mobs of pregnant women are climbing over the fence. And despite modern political correctness, all those military age men crossing the border are still unable to get preggers and pop out an anchor baby.

Stick to the "whole family deports together" plan. Sure, your kid is still a citizen and they can claim that when they turn 18, but for now you all gotta go. Knowing the likelihood of getting bumped back out after that long walk should cause the number trying to drop precipitously.

there is absolutely a reason for them not to be. birthright citizenship was a holdover when we started this country.

we should not be participating in it. it can be modified correctly.

one parent is a citizen and the other is here legally but is not a citizen, then the baby is a citizen upon birth.

Both non-citizens that are here LEGALLY, can apply for citizenship and based on some criteria will have a shot to be granted, but they get automatically the same legal visa/green card that their parents have, it just may not be citizenship.

Both parents here illegally, not a citizen.

and we can go on and on.

Why don't we just try eliminating all the entitlements and reinstating border security first and see where that gets us?

You're all in on getting the beds made and making sure the lights are turned off on this sinking ship... let's get the bilge pumps working first THEN we'll make the beds. :flipoff2:

This was an issue before the 14th Amendment and the Founder's didn't include it for a reason. Prior to the 14th we deferred to common law of birthright citizenship and the only exceptions were children of foreign ambassadors and children of soldiers of hostile foreign nations. The 14th was only passed because prior to it the slave states argued since slave children were born as slaves they didn't count as citizens and it was used to exclude American Indians from citizenship.

Slavery is now a non-issue obviously as it's no longer illegal and the American Indian thing was just bullshit semantics that no one is going to argue today.

15 or so years ago a local hospital got some bad publicity when an ad got discovered in Spanish that they had a "baby delivery package" for like $2500 that was clearly marketed to Mexican national women for citizenship. Then the women calling in to the radio show that had given birth at the same hospital in the recent past, reading their bills, with insurance, their co pays exceeding $2500 was pretty epic backlash.

Probably nothing changed but the advertising

EOs need to be good for 180 days, if Congress wants to make it the law of the land then good otherwise it expires.

since full border security will be the hardest, longest issue to get completed, we can cut many of them off at the pass by ending the birthright citizenship issue.

I want the border as secure as we can make it and we can get there, but logistically its the item that takes the longest to complete.

Right, gotta hurry up and get them outta here before they have them anchor babies. I sure hope we see some action on all of this because the financial burden they have on the tax payers is ever increasing.
The only argument is how are they going to go around and find out who is illegal? Show me your papers? You know that ain't going to work well.

BUT...the position has no legal authority to do anything. He will be an advisor.

The number of illegal immigrants that cross into any aspect of govt or law enforcement is significant. Even just registering a car or getting a license. It will be a big enough job to just handle and export those for awhile. During that time, we can explore ideas on how to get to the ones who know to keep their heads down.

You almost had it. It happens every day. They wont be deporting the "anchor babies". They will be deporting the parents who will take the kids with them or leave them with someone here.

Its not like this is new. Watch media clips from 10-20 years ago, it happened then it happens now. Lefties whined about it hen they will whine about it now. The kid can come back when theyre old enough to live on their own. Or like so many do in the border areas, live in Mejico and collect US welfare benefits.
