Planning on doing this also. Recently tried to camp in our highlander on an overnight stay. It was a bit too small for our likings, but I see they make small tents that attach to the suv and or truck to open the back area up.

I'm planning on doing something simple this winter for overnight ski trips in VT & NH. Im thinking a vevor diesel heater for $100 is something mighty worth it after reading some of the cold replies.

I bought one to use with the truck tent last year. I have only used it twice in 2 years, but both times it warmed things up pretty fast. The one I bought is an all-in-one unit. I made an extension for the faceplate, so I can put it in the tent, since the thermostat is on the plate. Also made a longer power cord, and longer vent tube (dryer vent) so I could put the heater farther away. Definitely makes cold weather camping more enjoyable.
