Trailer stake pockets?

We found this trailer on a jobsite, it was a trailer for a small boat, single axle, small tires, maybe 12ft long. Years ago we welded rails to haul dirt bikes, sold dirt bikes and got atvs so we made it flat top. Now we have neither and the in laws need a way to haul firewood so I figured we could put up some plywood and 2x4 sides and haul maybe 1/2 cord or so.

Need something to stab the 2x4s into, I dont feel like bending up scrap. Where to buy? Also, how far apart should I space them? Any other ways to do this?

Oh heck yeah. Price is right. How far apart should I space them? I might throw a couple d rings on there too

3-4' apart. Depends on what u build your sides out of and how sturdy they are.

Put them every foot for $2 each

Those are pretty affordable.

i would put them every 18” or so.

Since 2x4s don't measure true, 2x4x120 works also.

Ordered up 8 of the stake pockets to have for when I get a day to tinker with it.
