Seems too good to be true? Buy 2 for $760?

I thought these were Chinese ARB knock offs for a while, but turns out they've been around for years in Australia and are just making it here the last few years. The external actuator is a better design imo vs ARB.

Yeah...definitely seems like to good to be true. Wonder how well they hold up.

Apparently, they make a comp version D60 too...for only $50 more retail.

I saw that, but it's not comp in that it defaults to lock, it has 2 actuators though

If that wasn't an Ebay ad with a seller join date of May 2024 with nothing but generic reviews I'd think it was legit, but it's got to be to good to be true.

TJM site says 5yr warranty but who do you warranty it with? Sending it back to Australia for warranty work would be cost prohibitive and really really suck in my opinion...

Yeah...and with a retail of $999 for most of them, $380 is TGTBT.

Fair point, I guess I thought that was a legit company, but it could easily be a clone.

Warrantys hardly ever work out for me anyway

I can't imagine they'd make you send it back to Australia either way.

I wonder if it's worth buying a pair, if they show up, it's literally like 70% off, if they don't, file a claim with ebay?

TJM has been around a while, I remember them coming up on the old board 10ish years ago. Seemed like there wasn't enough people who'd tried them to have enough feedback of good or bad.

Have you ever dealt with eBay before?:lmao:

Ya, I got fucked at like 16 on a stupid $300 airsoft gun. Which may as well been $30k at 16. Totally fell for the "my brother just got back Iraq and is in the hospital, it's going to be a bit before we can ship it"

Waited too long and PayPal said too bad. I swore off ebay for a long time, but use it here and there over Amazon. Haven't tried to file a claim though.

That company has a pretty legit looking website

There is a lot of stuff on the Toyota boards. All positive that I can find.

I do like the actuator. Should be better than ARB seals by design, but also not exposed to damage like the ox locker external actuator.

I'd also think if shtf, you could pull the cover and wedge it locked somehow.

Why are they almost double the price on their site? None of it adds up.

Demo models? Idk. My buddy just bought a set of d44 5.13s for $20 at summit because they were "demo" models.

I totally agree, it seems to good to be true, but I'm willing to put in a little effort just incase it's not.

You would be floored at what the Summit return/clearance center in the back of the warehouse at their retail store in Arlington has and how stupid low most of the prices are. If you know what you are looking at there are many deals to be had. The inventory changes daily and you never know what's going to be on the shelves that day. A retired guy could probably make a few bucks on the side visiting the clearance center every morning and reselling on Ebay, FB marketplace, ect.

eBay sucks...the fees are also way out of control as a seller. It's a dinosaur and now AI is there to answer your questions when the 14 year old foreigner isn't available.

I think TJM is a pretty legit company that does business mostly everywhere else except the US. I think they just never really took off. You could get bullbars back in the day but I think ARB just had more market share earlier on.

That isn't to say what you are buying isn't cheap Chinese shit. I mean all the low end stuff at Warn is now. I hate to say it, you get what you pay for.

For whatever reason, I never made it to the location in Reno. It was a 4 hour drive and most shit was like a 20 hour delivery time to norcal.

But ya, buddy has been a few times and said it's deep discounts. I'm sure there are guys doing exactly what you say already.

Theses are the gears he got for $20:laughing:

Way back right after I got out of college I worked at a couple of offroad shops and was floored by just how cheap drivetrain parts were that the regular consumer paid thousands for. ARBs were $700 when retail was $1100. Spicer gears were cheaper or the same price as aftermarket brands and were like $120. Same with Timken master install kits....$99. Mark up on drivetrain is INSANE....and still is though I'm sure inflation is taking its toll. I still kicking myself for not buying a 5.86 Spicer gear set for a D70 when it was on sale from Nitro for $69 when Agitated Pancake posted up about it. Didn't buy it at the time thinking I wouldn't end up building the D70U I had laying around....and ended up spending $400 for the same gears a year or so later.

All consumer goods are like that.
I worked at an electrical supply store and the markup was insane.

I had a tjm locker in my toyota axle swapped samurai and the locker was great, i did not have issues with air lines freezing like my rear arb and the failures I've seen with them have been minimal. My old front diff is currently in a buddies yota with a supercharged 3.4 and doubler on 40s and a heavy right foot. That being said the quality has dropped off in the last few years. That price is too good to be true.

Wonder if they're the same or similar to TRE4x4?

Big in Asia, only a couple of retailers in US. I've talked with them since the customers around me are so damn cheap but leary to recommend them since to me they're untested

Electric and air lockers

I messaged the ebay seller. They sent me pics of stock.

Since their past feedback showed several orders at $380, I offered that and it was accepted.

I got a text almost immediately "Thanks for the purchase, click here to see your order."

It linked to my order specifics on Reconrecovery.com, but said "eBay purchase $799.00, Order Canceled". Oddness integrating eBay sales into their Quickbooks? Loading dock discount the boss doesn't know about?

I called them just now (1-800-359-9397), and Joel ran back to the warehouse and found a locker with my actual name on it waiting for UPS.

I also got a UPS 'shipment created' notification. 49lbs. Last time I shipped a selectable to Ak, it cost $120. Odd. They must be REALLY short on space.

So, it definitely IS the real ReconRecovery. Maybe they're going out of business and burning their reputation on the way, but...I'm optimistic.

He said he had 7 more D60 456+ 35spl.

If it comes to it, my local credit union has been good about yanking payment on my visa.

Interested to see how this pans out. Good luck!

Price for one is now $456 on the eBay link....JFYI 2 or more is $365.

Yeah, the one I offered on was $455.
Not gonna lie....you got me thinking about it, lol. I was gonna pick up a Torq for a 35 spline D60....but for this price, hard to beat a selectable.

I wanted a $1200 OX, but for 1/3 I'll figure out an air supply.

UPS still doesn't have the package... :/

Harrop is in Australia, I bought my Toyota lockers direct and warranty would have happened through their distributors state side if I had any issues. Maybe like that
