The current rav-4 wannabe/competitor iteration of the Cherokee model nameplate is pretty shitty; you can’t really blame them for getting fed up with that as their namesake...

thank god I don't have any connection to jeep. Cherokee is nothing, Comanche is a real problematic name for them.
 
I can get on board with this. As a 1/16th cherokee it really bothers me that they give such terrible offroad vehicle the name. I was ok with the shit box xj and fullsize cherokee but this thing!
 
Cherokee is already on its way out. The Compass is getting a little bigger to fill that hole, the Grand Cherokee gets a little bigger to compete with the Durango, and the Wagoneer will compete with Suburbans. They are already planning to do away with the Grand Cherokee name. That ball is already in motion. The Cancel Culture will take it as a win, and Stellantis will enjoy the extra sales.

This is the confusion I can't grasp, why change a name and probably loose your biggest market?
Up here go ripping through a rez and it doesn't take long to notice their favorites, Cherokees are near #1, followed by a fukd up Eagle in every yard, then Yukons and tahoes.
 
Wonder what Indian Motorcycles will do??.... Just change their name to "Motorcycle Company"
