What's new

The Grand Tour

It was my understanding that they had edited it and sent it to Amazon around end if June but it is up to them to rubber stamp and release it. Russia special that got canceled would have been interesting, not sure where if they were going on the Trans-Siberian Highway or what.

I cancelled Prime 2 months ago. I buy less chinese shit as an additional benefit.

Nay say all you want, I'm looking forward to it.

Car people are the weirdest audience. Continuous bitching about how there aren't enough car related TV shows, then when one comes out, continuous bitching that its not good enough.

Awesome, those guys have excellent chemistry, they're a hoot to watch talk about most anything.

Yeah, I'm kinda weird- I like more than 2 episodes per year.

What they are really doing is releasing 2-4 movies per year, not really shows. It was a shitty year to move to the new format with covid. They could have continued some of the normal antics in the old format. Also reading some of the interviews it sounds like while the Seamen episode was really good it was hard on the group. All three of them got hurt/sick and at least James and Jeremey aren't exactly spring chickens anymore. The part about the camera boat taking on water wasnt just a gag - there was real concern it was going to sink.

I like the new format and I can see it appealing to the wider audience who really just watched top gear for the specials and adventures. Just think the first go was too different, pushed too far and then followed up by the coronaclusterfuck

From what I read they were supposed to film a new 'movie in Russia right around March when the rona shut everything down. The canceled that and then because everyone was distancing it took a lot longer to edit the Madagascar 'movie.' That being said apparently they gave the finish cut to Amazon back in June.

They are pretty great together, seems to be about the same amount of hit and miss episodes as old top gear. The tent stuff did seem very gimmicky, its nice that they got away from that.

All this. It’s actually pretty impressive how much goes wrong on those trips, they’re not just making up problems. Almost every special someone gets hurt, sick, or chased out of the country by political activists. No surprise really when you realize just how big of a production it is to do that level of filming in a third world country.

Seems to me like the difference between watching KOH coverage once a year, and listening to a weekly 4x4 podcast. I'm happy to listen to the guys BS and harass each other more often.

enjoyed that the Bentley made it back to his farm and he found a chance to tie it into the farm show. Thing looks like a blast

Looks like the Scotland special is due on July 30, way sooner than most expected. Looks promising from the trailer.
I think it was supposed to be a Russia special but 2020 changed that.

It looks like it will be good as usual

FYI, 'Clarkson's Farm' on Prime is pretty fun. More sedate than GT, but it IS a show about farming.

Jeremy gets in a couple digs at May, and makes endless excuses for his gargantuan Lamborghini tractor.

Just did another watch of clarksons farm and again, enjoyed everyminute of it.

Watching the namiba dune buggy trip again right now.

Yeah, the nambia dune buggy and mongolia 4x4 in a box are good for a rewatch or two.
