3-day weekend and all.

I was up early to feed the dogs and workout. The daughter and I went to the farm store for a few things and the grocery store to get stuff for homemade pizza. We made one pizza in the oven and one on the pellet grill, that’s the first time trying one on the pellet grill and it turned out great. We went to our niece’s graduation party about 1 1/2 hours away, stayed for a couple hours and came home. Now I’m chillin in the sunroom with the dogs and making a list of stuff to do tomorrow.

My wife’s youngest brother has an 8yo son whose mom dresses like a girl, and sometimes puts makeup on and has long girlish hair. Today the kid was wearing a pink shirt and girly pants. We found out after we left that one of our 6yo nephews was arguing with the girly kids dad that the 8yo is a girl because he looks like a girl. :laughing: I wish I could have been there for that.
 
Crashed for a 4-hour nap after getting home this morning. Got word that we just got missed by a tornado in Bull Shoals. Cooking up some camping leftovers now. Just hanging out until we head down to the house tomorrow to unload and hang up all the wet stuff to dry.

I was at a bar once (the kind people bring their kids to 🤦‍♂️ ) and I was playing with my nephew doing a little d day reenactment using those little green army men. We'll this other little boy in a dress came over to play with my nephew and I end up giving them both a play by play on d day. We'll the boys mom come over as I'm explaining the German inland defenses and boy does she lose her shit :laughing:
 
In now, parked on the couch with Mrs and the man-eater. And sipping on a rum&coke.

We went to a retirement party for one of Mrs directors. Mrs team has worked 100% remotely since the beginning of covid. I didn’t have to go, but thought it would be good to put faces to names I’ve been hearing for a while. Not many spouses came. I wound up hanging out with a Navy vet whose Mrs works in the same unit as mine, naturally there was some light ribbing 😋

We’re going to have leftover flank steak and peppers for dinner.

I work tomorrow. It should be an easy day :usa:

In.

Was up at the National Cemetery helping getting stuff ready for tomorrow. Came home for a bit to be alone, have a cigar and think awhile.

Getting ready to head to town for a party with the Nation of Patriots riders. Along with some ceremonies and awards. Then home to relax and get ready for tomorrow.
 
Day 2 of digging up the yard. Channeled my inner 486 to pretend to be thepanzerfuhrer by tie wiring some metal shelving into the worst set of screens ever to recover some of the old stone. Got it most of the way ready and looking forward to an easy day tomorrow just having to spread a pickup load of stone :laughing:

I've been looking at all the areas the PO dumped stone into black dirt and thinking to myself that I should set up a screen thing to recover some of it
but then I realize that's a whole lot of effort and a full 12 yd load of washed rock is like $400

Amusing myself by sirching songs about Winnemucca. Holy shit that's been some good music. So many songs written about this town.

We got a lot done yesterday but, someone seems to have injured a previous injury doing the tractor work.


We are both shocked af at father's mental capacity the last 48hrs. Somehow, I got through to him by researching ALL his bloodwork results that he's killing himself with the betes, so he's been drinking WATER and not diet drinks for the last four days.

He's like a NORMAL non Alzheimer's dude.... ?????
 
Finished a big migration for a client this morning and got all the VPN’s talking again. Wife made gnocchi sausage soup for dinner, been terribly cold weather for this time of year, then the wife started planning a trip to Moab this fall. Gonna do a couple of upgrades to the golf cart and run some of the trails there. 10 more days and we are empty nesters!
 
welded three panels of floor into the trailer thing
shuffled some shit around in one of the sheds, gonna have to get the burn barrel out

heard a tree falling behind me so I quickly decided to run away
it was far enough away that it didn't matter, kinda knew that tree was falling over some time, didn't figure I'd be right close to it
 
In. Piddling around fixing the front end on my lawn mower. Started out just welding a loose connection in the steering column, now I'm doing the axle pivot bushings, spindle bushings and wheel bearings. Tubes the spindle bushings sit in were flopping all over so I welded those in, we'll see when I drop the axle how much more shit is broken there.

Honestly if I had some place to toss the old stuff in this tiny ass yard that is exactly what I would have done. Hell I think I have more then enough new rock already. But nooo, got to spend hours shoveling material back and forth trying to get it cleaned up enough to reuse half of it and reduce the pile i have to find some place to toss.

Spent all day yesterday with a sod cutter tearing up old dead lawn. Spent today with the aerator trying so save the lawn that still wants to live. Spread some rock out. Fertilized and overseeded. Tired 😴

Mrs. KenV spent the day at the in-laws' place helping with something all day. She took the boy, making for some quiet. I stayed home reading, planning the week, researching trucks and going over glasses frames/prescriptions with the girl. Just mashed together a meatloaf. Gonna pop a pain pill so I can work out in the morning.

Went for a nice lunch visit with Mother and she proceeded to give me some schooling on the origin of the cafeteria noodles GF made last night, I'll be going down the rabbit hole during the week to see if I can find a copy of the .gov cookbook it was published in somewhere around the end of WWII. I figure there will probably be some more cheap and tasty recipes in it.

No long weekend here in Canuckistan so I am hittin' the rack right quick so I am fresh for work in the AM.

Current flue is such a dick bitch!!

It's made me so brain dead I somehow, I managed to punch myself in the bridge of my nose three fucking times in a row the other night. I was only trying to roll over nothing in my hands.

Me, "OMF Christ!!! I punched myself in the face trying to roll over." 😠 as we are both drifting to sleep.

Two more times I did the same thing but with more screams of pain and swearing.

Next morning I caught my glasses on the cabinet handle while installing the new microwave, CRACK goes my nose for the 4th time in 16hrs.

I did something fucktarded to it again today, so I've been trying to go without glasses because of the swelling.

He even owned up to his addiction!!.... oh lordy I forgot about that part until now.

For those who didn't read my thread, since the 70s I have watched or listened to the 500, till last year.
Used to be able to listen to it on a local AM station but no more. Local broadcast TV is almost nonexsistent because of the ridge between here and the main anttenas. I do miss the roadsters with the Offy engines
other wise I didn't do anything

Crash good to hear pop is finally learning to take care of his health. Nose will feel better once you quit hitting yourself! :laughing:

Oh joy, now we have a broken tooth with angry exposed nerve.

I told him someone is having fun with our Boo Boo Dolls. I tried to say voodoo but today isn't working for either of us. :lmao:
