Does anyone know of replacement end caps for steering gears? Specifically Saginaw boxes. (scout II box)

Mine blew out when scout hit the jersey barrier on I75...

More about that later.

Snapped of the shit cast wagoneer pitman arm (right where the thin casting meets the sector shaft casting. Not any of my welded sections.)

Also does anyone know of a beefed up wagoneer pitman arm for sale anywhere.?? The one I had was originally from partsmike and I think it's just a rebent crown automotive one.

I have one, if you need it? It's at least 20 years old, never installed, billet aluminum.

It's a bit different, but looks like it will do what you want.

Oh and talk with Trevor: I have a bunch of 1104's out there.

Fuck bending a pitman arm, when there are many that are already set for what you want.

I think I have to agree with you. I'm kind of glad the pitman arm snapped and not the steering gear. The steering gear is unobtainum (scout II box) I luckily have a spare but haven't ported it yet. Having the pitman arm snap instead of the sector shaft was much cheaper.

Looked into Rare parts 28952 near $500 for a pitman arm... Fuck that.

I'm going to order a crown auto one and just plate it and double shear it again.

I'm pretty happy with how I welded this one back together and I'm tempted to run it.... If I add a bit morn plating too it.

Next one gets plated way more up top.

If Winchested passes on the end cap I would be interested.
We're trying to figure out sizing. (That's what she said!) He did pass.

Would this work for you?

Did you check with WFO?

Check out Lee power steering. They showed a billet power steering end cap in their steering gear rebuild options. Maybe they will sell the end cap.
Then let us know what you find out:flipoff2:

Ya they don't show it on their website nor does PSC.

I will send them an email too.

LEE is selling me a stock Saginaw cap.

Their billet end caps are built without the steering stop in it, so it would over travel in one direction.

They must use the piston length as the stop rather than the end cap.
