I live in a court with four houses. I blow my driveway off after mowing and in the fall with all the leaves. After cleaning my driveway I will typically blow a large part of the court to clear out debris and leaves. I also have a lawn vacuum, and will use it to clean the court of leaves in the fall. There are LOTS of HUGE trees dropping debris and leaves. Everyone stays inside most of the time and keeps to themselves though.

I shovel the sidewalks for both in the winter (we have to clear our own sidewalks here) if I'm out first. I cut the entire front yards on both sides (ie from their driveway to their driveway), not just my halves of them. I feed the one neighbours fish when they are out of town.

Then for pretty much all the neighbours (other then the basketball fucks), I have lent tools or fixed things for them on dozens of occasions. And I even built the one neighbour a huge new deck in their backyard for them (they paid materials, I built it for free).

Plus we all just look out for each other, pick up packages left out or garage doors left open or whatever.

It's really a shame a couple of the neighbours are pieces of shit, they're missing out on a lot of help I'd otherwise give because they're inconsiderate pricks.

I mowed an elder lady's yard for a summer as she was having hip problems and couldn't get on her mower. She kept trying to pay me but I always refused. She then sold the house and moved with some family.

Shovel snow off driveways. Welded and helped build shit. Sent some golf balls across the lake to some vacation renters while they were setting off fireworks at 1am that didn't realize everyone else wasn't on vacation. :flipoff2:

Whatever. Mowed the neighbors acreage when he went to raft the grand canyon for a month (he's 70 something). Feed animals (goats, cows, dogs, etc) when they leave. Lend tools to neighbors. Helped a few create and burn brush piles. Weld stuff that needs welding. Basically anything that's asked- if I'm capable and have the time then why not....

On the flip side, I call my neighbors to help lift heavy shit if needed, and one of em will typically watch our chickens and barn cats when we leave, etc.... it's pretty nice.

My direct neighbor on one side used to ask me to keep an eye on her house when she went out of town. Even though her husband and adult son were still home. That worked out when they moved and she sold me the house.

The elderly widowed neighbor on the other side comes over for all kinds of misc things. Yesterday she came over to ask me to help get a lizard out of her window. I've also fixed her computer a number of times. Once, she fell off a step ladder and showed up at my doorstep bleeding pretty good from her head. Hopefully she sells me her house when her son makes her move closer to him.

General neighborhood stuff, we're on a cul de sac and have over a dozen kids on our little block. With a pedestrian entrance to the high school at the end of the cul de sac we get a decent amount of traffic. We have a "dad chat" group text message for when someone is out with the kids and a driver doesn't want to obey our warnings about speeding or something sketchy is happening.

I have a couple guys I ask help me move heavy shit. I'll loan neighbors tools or fix easy shit for them.

Closest neighbor is a lazy fuck.. professional disability kinda guy. Has his own tractor to clear snow. I won’t touch his driveway.. even if I know his wife needs to get out.

Other neighbors are 80+ years old and the husband will get up at zero dark hundred to hand shovel his snow.. I try to get to it with the tractor before he does that.. he brings me beer.

I live on a gravel road about a mile long with 7 neighbors. The retired ferry captain is the only asshole so those are pretty good odds I think. With the exception of the Captain, I've worked on all of their cars/equipment at some point, mostly when it requires welding or they need a broken bolt extracted or something. I replaced the alternator in the older ladies car next door and wouldn't take her cash but she has watched my animals for a few days which was extremely helpful. Most of us pitch-in to maintain the road 1-2 times a year, some of them don't have the money and that's fine. When my mower died a few years ago, three of them showed up with their own mowers and knocked down 1.5 acres of grass for me, that was nice. I took them beers while they mowed, lol.

Lots. Fix vehicles, help move large items, shoot the shit for some laughs, keep an eye on each other's places, etc.

Been building for around three years and nobody here does anything to intentionally piss a neighbor off. We all like the area and all know that we have to cross paths.

When I was in town I'd help the neighbors son with his car. Once his brother came into town and they were putting a tranny in his mom's car, once I realized what was up, I ran 100' of air hose from my compressor to his garage and handed them an impact and air ratchet.

His mom was an older Mexican lady, I'd pay her to help me with housecleaning a couple times a month. She was also pretty gangster and was the neighborhood watch:laughing:

Next neighbor was a long time friend of mine, we had each other's backs

New neighbor just remodeled his house, I'm renovating mine, he's part of the family roofing business, they put a roof on my old house fast and cheap so I could get it sold, they use my bobcat to backfill their foundation, a couple weeks ago he needed some extra dirt for a bigger ac pad, I brought some over and smoothed it out. His dad is building a house down the road, needed some bobcat work, I loaded it up and brought it to him. We're trading subcontractors to get things finished up, good neighbors to have.

There's 20 acres vacant to the north of me, owned by a guy my age, his folks own the next 10 to the north, I look over yesterday and see a semi truck in his yard, in message him offering to use my forklift to help unload.

Last month he put some pretty high dollar fencing in, and was going to put a 90 at my gate, which is pulled back from the street. It would have crowded my entrance, and when I asked if he would mind making it a 45, he didn't complain, which I appreciated.

I try to be a pretty good neighbor

Private road
I take care of vegetation along the road for everyone
When it snows I clear the whole road for everyone
When the neighbor gets freight delivered the truck driver delivers freight to my place often, they were (of course) not there to unload, so I unloaded it for the kid after the truck driver came to me for help
All of the items above have yet to be thanked for

Older guy that is cool mid 80's, my daughter keeps a close eye on him. He tells me that is his shop and garage door don't open/close on schedule, if not my kid will swing over on her way down the driveway walking from the school bus to check on him and make sure that everything is good

One neighbor I ignore, the lady behind me is helpless and kinda dumb, but her ex husband still has a financial interest in the house so he handles everything, and my neighbor next to me is cool and handy, we just loan tools from time to time and share beers at the fence.

In our neighborhood, we take turns watching each other's kids if something comes up.

Occasionally I'll water my across the street neighbor's pot plants when he's out of town all summer because he and his wife are both teachers.

I help the old lady next door make her internet work from time to time.

When we had a flood scare a few years back and one of our neighbors was out of town, I sand bagged up his garage and house. Flood wasn't going to get us, but he was nervous about it so I did that to make him feel better about not being there.

And most importantly, I let all the neighborhood kids drive the wheels off all of our RC cars.

I have watched their kid with very short notice.

We are a few acres away from all of them. Best I can do is watch their places and who shows up when my dogs alert.

We have a neighborhood watch with my work neighbors.

Private road, one car wide, with about 17 houses, mostly elderly folks with big houses, big lots, and tons of trees.

I blow the full length of the road off every few weeks. When storms come through I'm the first one (only one typically) out with a chainsaw.

Feed the outdoor cat my neighbor has decided is his. Neighbor can't mentally care for an outdoor cat, but they like each others attention. I've also fixed his clock a few times.

Other neighbor I let park on my driveway as they don't have much access.

My two immediate neighbors know I will help out, all they have to do is ask.
Goes both ways.

We respect each others privacy the rest of the time.

Not really.

Everything you hear about reverse possession and use by historical doesn't mean shit.

*que a half dozen "I heard about a blah blah" stories
I saw it happen. Although it was in Santa Cruz in a Stone Masons community.

Neighbor kid and my kid are friends. He came by the other day to get some butter for his momma. I sent him home with a lb. They watch and feed our boys when they come over there. We do the same. We've mowed their place when their mower is down or they're gone. Other neighbor had his cows get out, I pushed em home...more than once too, finally told him fix his fence :lmao:
