Raise your hand if you have been employed at a Nuclear power plant

You can also raise your hand if you have worked power generation or distribution/transmission

Some short sighted comments in the other thread. Looking to here from people that work that side of life.

Worked on the design of the Donald C. Cook 1300 MW nuclear plant back in the day. One cool feature was the ice backup for emergency cooling inside the dome.

Also did some nuclear stuff for the AMC, now called DARPA.

Both at power line construction company and for water treatment company.

But nuclear plants were not up and running yet.

What was the question?

worked in it in the Navy one of my best friends is in the SMR group for dominion here in VA. Definitely some people that don't understand the real math of distribution and how making power needs to work as demand changes specifically for electrification and computing requirements.

Please submit your need-to-know request to HR.

It is a spin off to see if anyone has any long term experience working in the power generation sector.

Ya ya I know, it’s an offroad forum that it’s majority is made up off non-wheelers

I was employed by entergy Vermont Yankee as an electrician for 6 years. Worked refuel outages at many of the northern fleet plants.

Just saying, I know the ins and outs of a reactor.

I watched a lot of the Simpsons :homer:

Was there a question here? I saw the other thread but haven't had a chance to read it.

I've never had the pleasure of working nuke shutdowns, but I work with people who have at our prior employer. We do Utility/T-line/Substation & Grid scale/DG renewable stuff.

Not a question, more of your personal input if you have work power generating and what sector of that if you have.
