What's new

So, the new Ram inline 6 engine (no more V8’s) is missing something on it.

On lots of Ferraris you have to check the oil with the engine running and at operating temp.

Thats the nature of a dry sump system.

The "needing to check transmission fluid at or above 200*" is because of this stupid ass part, and there's absolutely no excuse for it.

Once you begin to see state coercion, you see it everywhere.
Aint that the truth.

Sacrificing transmission reliability to chase arbitrary numbers set forth by epa bean counters. Ffs.

Whats the carbon footprint caused by chasing them fuel mileage standards? Dunno, doesn't matter, just chase them stupid ass numbers!

Dam collectivists... :mad3:

I've heard rumors that only about 20% of Americans even change their own oil, so should people even bother putting in a dipstick?

Come on be honest... how many women you know that actually check the oil?

I remember my sister 30 years ago saying her car was making a tapping noise. I asked if she had checked the oil... her response? "It had some when I bought it". The poor little sentra had like 40k on it.

:flipoff2:
My cousin burned up two BMW engines because she never checked"Because it was a BMW"
Her brothers wife came through was complaining that the Toyota was making a clattering noise, so I went out and checked low on oil!

with all of the engine issues these days, I'd bet a lot of people fall into the "It will be safer for me if I have the dealer do everything - one less thing for the MFG to try to deny warranty over."

Thanks for the reminder. Need to change the oil in the DD.

Actually, that's one I can't level at my brother's wife. The Mercedes was her DD- her other car was a built Supra running 30 lbs boost that she took to track days.

No, that's wrong. Some have level sensors. Mostly the zf and mbz/mopar units.
Oh no shit? huh
seems kinda like a waste when they could just go with the "if it ain't fine you replace the transmission when it gains neutrals" fluid level/condition checking that has been typical

Word is, Cummins is making a gas engine. 🤔

Yes, Cummins Inc. makes a gasoline engine called the 7 Octane, which combines the power of diesel with the convenience of gasoline. Cummins also makes natural gas and alternative fuel engines. Cummins' natural gas engines are considered a key part of the transition to renewable energy because they have near-zero emissions and environmental benefits. Cummins also offers fuel-agnostic options, which Padmanabhan says will be important as Cummins transitions to its 2050 sustainability plan, Destination Zero, which aims to reduce emissions in its products and production.
