What's new

SNLC

I welded some thin stainless sheetmetal and it actually worked really nice this time
thin enough junk that the 035 mig wire I was using as filler was a little too thick

if you weld it a little tiny bit at a time and hammer it flat in between to stretch the shrinkage (and reweld the areas that you end up stretching too much in order to reshrink them) it actually goes pretty doggone good
My auto hood died when I needed it. Fuck it, I’m in the house where it’s a little cooler. 92° outside still today. :mad3:

I just have glass that is glass these days
if I need autodark functionality I toss a towel over the back and light the work with an excessive amount of lights

Almost in.

Amazon and USPS are conspiring against me getting my Tacoma front end rebuilt. Both lower control arms are 'MIA'... Amazon one stalled out in Newark, CA... USPS arrived at Sacramento yesterday and should have been out for delivery today. Nope.

Instead, I'll drop the bed on my S10 so it looks 'complete'. Then I'll get more gas in it and see if it will charge up the new battery fully.

Tomorrow will be on to the burnt cruiser for a bit.

Sitting in a motel room in Santa Rosa NM, friend is coming down from Leadville got a late start then ran into a rain storm on I-25. Not sure where he's ending up on this trip, but he wanted to go snorkeling at Blue Hole and he is bringing my welder to me.
I was going to go fishing, but got here and realized I left my rod at home.
He should be here in an hour or so then off to the Comet 2 for Mexican food

Brother inlaw and father helped me pick pumkins and gourds to bring to the stand.
Put up a large training area for pup.
Did some training.
Got pizza for dinner.
Relaxing on couch.
How far north in NY are you? The planting/harvest dates across the US are always interesting. The 1st commercial field corn is planted here in January some years. I planted some in early September for research plots. It generally pollinates well then.

Changed oil in mom's commuter, managed to hit O'Reilly before the retards did so that was cool.

Came home and got the rear brakes plumbed in the MB, finishing off the rear disk swap. Managed to get through bleeding brakes with the wife without a fight somehow.

Been entertaining my sisters 3 kids all morning. Took them flying, drove the tractor, flew drones, and playing with RC rock crawlers. Wife had to work the Buddy Walk in town, then I had to help clean up, now all of them went to an Imagine Dragons concert and I collapsed on the couch. Wanna go work on the camper, but might mess with my new Starlink cause it’s inside where there is air conditioning. Can’t decide on dinner, don’t feel like cooking anything, and take out is so expensive. Where’s that wife of mine when I need her to make me food…

In. Spent all damn day 60mi away at a wildland fire class. Doing it again tomorrow. But, we get to burn shit tomorrow so that should be more fun. :smokin:

Just got home a bit ago. Put the chickens up, played catch with my 8yo. Now, relaxing.

Charlie,

Looked that restaurant up, it is in Santa Rosa.
I come out that way on I40 fairly often, typically like to get the fuel at Pilot there, also watch other drivers enter it from the wrong side:homer:
I was there just the other week, a fist fight almost took place...

How close are you to this area?
Perhaps with some notice we do a lunch when I am out that way....

In.

we did a groceries run and not much else. I was up most all night with a bellyache for some reason and it hung around till mid day. In honor of my bellyache GF made us a batch of chili for dinner, not too sure how I feel about that but I love her chili so I'll either feel better or worse by tomorrow.
